So Much E3 News
I just got done watching the live coverage of the Nintendo Press Conference this morning. Lots of cool news, but they still kept a lot secret. The only game I was really excited for was the announcement of Animal Crossing Wii. Sure, the DS is getting an actual GTA game, more Guitar Hero, a special Spore game, but I don't really care about those titles. Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger DS is what I can't wait for. Hopefully we get more news later this week since Reggie did say he couldn't show us everything. I'm just hoping we get some new IPs or some continuations for old franchises.

The Sony Press Conference is coming up in an hour or so, I believe, and I'd like to see what they're going to present. I'm hoping we're getting more than just Killzone 2, Resistance 2, etc. news. I want something epic like Metal Gear Solid 4. I might update later with whatever they announce.

Last night was great. After I got done with work at 6, I went over to Newell's house to hang out and watch RAW like I do every Monday. Peter [friend ]and Nick [Newell's brother] were also there already. They had, uh, G4 on and were watching new trailers and previews of certain games. The Fallout 3 demo looked amazing and confirmed my purchase. Everything else was pretty lame though. We also played two rounds of Balderdash. I dunno how many of people have played or heard about it, but basically it goes like this:

Every turn, someone takes a card out and rolls a dice. Depending on the roll, you choose the topic. There's Weird Words, Peculiar People, Acronyms, Movie Titles, and Strange Laws. For Weird Words, the word is read aloud and everyone writes down what they think is the correct definition. The one who has the card writes down the correct answer. When everyone is ready, all the written down answers are collected and read off. Everyone then votes for the one they think is right. If you guess the right answer, you get 2 points. If someone picks your answer you get 1 point. So you try to fool everyone into thinking your answer is the right one. Pretty easy. For Peculiar People, you have to write down what said person is famous for. Acronyms, you write what the acronym stands for (i.e. A.K.C., I.T.A.A., etc.). Movie Titles, you have to write out a small plot for the movie. Strange laws, real laws that you have to finish (i.e. In Scotland, it's illegal to brush..., In California, it used to be illegal to wipe..., etc.). You end up with some awesome answers if you do it right.

One of the best answers I wrote was for a Movie Title. The title was, "Hour of the Pig". My plot went like this, "A movie based on the life of Anna Nicole Smith." I also drew a picture of a pig with female hair saying, "Howard!". I loved it personally. Nick's best answer for a Weird Word was a drawing of a penis. That was it. Just a drawing. Peter's was definitely a Movie Title that was, "Against the Drunken Cat Paws" and his plot was "Mike Meyers has sex with a lot of different men. Mark Henry then comes in and eats him. For real." Newell's was probably a Movie Title one too. I can't remember the title, but he used it twice in a row. His plot was "A hacker runs into trouble with a group of terrorists. Samuel L. Jackson, playing a cop, saves him and escapes the terrorists by flying to California. Snakes are unleashed on by the terrorists on the plane and they bite off a peeing guy's dick."

As you can tell, we loved the Movie Title ones. I wish I could share more, but this post is long enough.
