M.A.G.I.C. ACT BOLSTERED BY NEW ADDITIONS
After the sweeping success enjoyed by the new laws introduced by the Ministry of Magic earlier this month, Minister Jakob Vervalsing has just signed off on a new addition to the M.A.G.I.C. Act, which has been pushed forward with great interest from the Wizengamot.
The M.A.G.I.C. Act, which stands for the Muggleborn Assurance Guaranty Impliciting Conservation, is a groundbreaking new set of laws put forth to protect the Muggleborn and halfblood citizens of Wizarding Great Britain following an increasing number of grisly attacks on their kind orchestrated by You-Know-Who and his followers. While the laws have been met with some opposition, the way in which they have been received by the general Muggleborn community as a whole has been promising.
In the interest of continuing the protection of these valued members of wizarding society, the Minister's office announced today in a press conference a set of new provisions to be added to the M.A.G.I.C. Act. The following provisions are to be put into affect starting immediately to ensure optimum protection for Muggleborn citizens:
• Muggleborn witches and wizards will hereby not be permitted out into any establishment in wizarding Great Britain except when accompanied by a pure or halfblooded witch or wizard who will vow to monitor and protect them during that time.
• Halfblood children under the age of 11 and attending wizarding primary school will hereby be separated from their pureblooded classmates and placed in alternative classrooms in order to ensure the safety of these children and their classmates.
• All transportation not certified by the Ministry of Magic will be hereby forbidden to citizens of Muggleborn status. In addition, Ministry-regulated transportation, including portkeys and the Floo Network, will be under close surveillance. Any Muggleborn witches or wizards who wish to use these forms of transportation must be accompanied by a pureblooded spouse who will vouch for the validity of the request and stay with them at all times.
• Attempts by any Muggleborn witches or wizards to leave the country are strictly forbidden until further notice unless accompanied and vouched for by a pureblooded spouse.
Following this announcement, a question and answer session ensued, during which Minister Vervalsing was quoted sending out a message to the Muggleborn population that they "...can feel safe putting your trust in the Ministry, which is always tirlessly searching for new ways to make your lives more secure during these trying and dangerous times..."
