Rookwood Sentenced to Life!
The verdict's in: Augustus Rookwood, former Unspeakable for the Department of Mysteries has been found guilty of treason against the Ministry and has been sentenced to life in Azkaban for his crimes, with no parole. In just the latest of death eater trials after the demise of You-Know-Who, the case against Rookwood was exceptionally personal to those in the Ministry, as he had been an employee since his graduation from Hogwarts in 1971. A major factor in the case were the testimonies of Rookwood's younger brother, also a member of the ministry. Rookwood should be taken to Azkaban within the week, but his exact departure date is unknown for safety precautions.

ooc: Comments etc. It would not surprise me if some death eaters in hiding get a little riled up by this, if you know what I mean.

Another Auror Attack!

Loftus, Auror

While as of recently there have been little to no domestic attacks since on the Aurors Frank and Alice Longbottom, an recent event has broken this reprieve. Another Auror's house, Christopher Loftus, late last night witnessed an attack and break in.

Loftus, his wife, and his two children were all present in the house when Laurette Pucey, step-mother of Loftus' wife, Prisca Loftus, broke in. While Loftus and his wife were unharmed, Pucey did manage to make it to the children's room too quickly for the Auror or officials to react. Loftus managed to stop Pucey before attacking their son, Micah Loftus [1], but this cannot be said for their daughter Ariel Loftus [1]. Neither she nor Pucey survived, with Pucey jumping out the children's nursery window in an attempt to escape.

Officials are unsure whether this attack is related to the likes of You-Know-Who, though they state it is unlikely with what actually happened.
