James and Lily Potter, at a friend's wedding this past spring
Late Sunday evening, an explosion from the cottage of James and Lily Potter's in Godric's Hollow occurred, and as ministry aurors and investigators report, the cause is the destruction of You-Know-Who himself. James and Lily Potter were both killed by the Killing Curse, but amazingly, from the residual spell damage in the nursery of the house where their son, young Harry James Potter resided, the killing curse was used upon the child as well, but in a miracle upon all miracles, the baby survived.

Junior Minister in the Department of Magical Catastrophes Cornelius Fudge had this to say, "We have---we have no idea how young Harry Potter survived the spell, but he did! Whatever magic occurred in the Godric's Hollow last night, it has never been seen before! That baby survived the killing curse! He lived! He's the boy who lived!"

Harry has been taken into custody of his relatives and the memorial service for the Potters will be announced when arrangements have been made. More on this miraculous event throughout this entire newspaper, dedicated to
Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived!
