Special Edition - April 24th: Fourth Victim of Virus Claimed; New Editor In Chief Named.
Justin Sloper (56) Editor of The Daily Prophet died late last evening due to complications of the Super Virus that has hit the wizarding world hard. More than four dozen witches and wizards have been diagnosed with this serious illness since early March and the mystery of where it came from or when it will be cured still persists. Sloper fell ill nearly two weeks ago and has been in the quarantined intensive care unit at St. Mungo's. He is the fourth victim, following the deaths of Orion Black, Alexandria Croaker and Pollux Rabnott earlier in this epidemic.
"Justin was a kind and loving family man and a gentle but demanding Editor," Barabus Cuffe, 47 says. Cuffe is the long-time Associate Editor and writer for The Daily Prophet and will be filling Sloper's position with the paper. "He'll be sorely missed. I know I'll have a hard time trying to live up to the standards he set for this publication.
Funeral arrangements have not been made yet and in lieu of flowers, the Sloper family requests that donations be made to the War Orphans Fund, a charity Sloper has been a supporter of since it's inception. Justin Sloper leaves in his memory a wife of twenty five years, Carrie (55) and three sons, Owen Giaus (23), Quintus Landry (21) and Zachary Enias (18).
