Magpies Losing Star Power
 |
Two days after the announcement that star chaser Thomas McCormack was leaving Montrose for the Appleby Arrows, the Magpies break the news that starting keeper Drake Parkin is leaving Montrose and quidditch for good.
"It's a sad thing, to have someone in the prime of his talent take a leave of absence so suddenly, but we have to understand and be respectful of Drake's reasons," speaks the Montrose Head Coach. "We wish him well, he's brought a lot of stability and strength to the team." The second string keeper will take Parkin's place between the posts for the start of the season for the first time.
The ever-camera and interview shy Parkin was available for brief comments. "I love quidditch, I always will. I've just found something I love more." Could it be another job? No, it's his family. Parkin is reportedly retiring from the sport in order to serve as a stay at home father for his newborn son, James, with Catapults' new captain, Carys Llewellyn. "I've been thinking about it for awhile, it seems like the best choice. James and I will still come out to root for his mum though." |
