Breaking Deadline News
In what may be the latest a trade deadline negotiation has been settled in the past decade, there are lots of heads turning toward Kenmare, where word has it that a trade has been agreed upon with Wigtown.

When asked about the rumors that were swirling around at roughly 3:30 pm this afternoon at the termination of practice for the team, Kestrels captain Axebanger Brookstanton declined comment, saying that the issue was not presently decided before making his way to the locker room.

The locker room was, of course, closed to press after practice today, making some wonder what exactly was happening away from the eyes of the public. But all was revealed an hour later when sources say they spotted beater Jordan Fletcher carrying what appeared to be a very overly-stuffed duffel out of the room before apparating.

When other teammates left, there were declines for comment all around. But, when hard pressed about the rumors that there would be a new beater in town shortly, Joey Jenkins managed to show his hand just a touch.

Well, there certainly is a new beater in Kenmare tonight, but we're not so sure about the new portion of that statement. Replacing Fletcher is former team chaser Joey Jenkins. Jenkins, it should be noted, is no stranger to a beater's bat. He played in the position during his years at Hogwarts, including a cup championship and serving as captain his seventh year of school. Is it a rusty skill, or one that will sharpen easily?

It should be noted that in addition to this position switch, Fletcher was traded to the Wigtown Wanderers for a young, fresh faced chaser who is showing promise on the field. The youth movement seemed to be a working plan for the Kestrels last year, perhaps this changing of the guard will improve rather than impede the standings of Kenmare overall. Only time will tell.
