The Quick SNITCH! Report
"Finn McLaggen here with your weekend quidditch update. Teams this week brought their O-game, maybe it's because they knew it'd be my first chance to report on their antics? Let's get down to it: Arrows (190) vs. Kestrels (60) Here we have Saoirse Mullet's eagerly awaited return to Appleby after her last minute decision to move to Kenmare. The Kestrels have been on fire, but an empty bench has not been able to douse the Arrows' flame. Captain Thomas McCormack is keeping the defending champs at the top of their game, and are the first team to break the thousand-point mark.
Bats (430) vs. Cannons (10) Right, not much to talk about here. The Cannons didn't get shut out, I guess that's a good thing. Next.
Falcons (180) vs. Harpies (180) The Falcons and Harpies managed the first tie of the season with Vinny Gudgeon making the snitch catch just as Nick Boot scores the goal against the Falcons' replacement keeper. Where art thou, Michal Conway? Your team seems lost without you.
Magpies (260) vs. Pride (50) Adrian Mattias has his first victory as captain, and it comes against the Pride, where two of his starts defected from last season. Well, Lufkin didn't choose to leave, but he doesn't seem to be regretting the move. Arista Sykes seems confused in the air, maybe a leap from the floundering Pride would do her some good.
United (280) vs. Tornadoes (30) Matt Summerby got his first chance at revenge against Iwan Quigley, the Irish seeker who nabbed the snitch from under him during this past World Cup. Can't say I was disappointed about that win, but Summerby swept in with a fury and the United steamrolled the Tornadoes. The 'Nadoes are looking a bit confused out there without Sumpter leading the way.
Wasps (30) vs. Wanderers (220) It was a battle of the undefeated teams, but the Wanderers came out on top. Ludo Bagman seemed in a right state after the match; no one likes a sore loser, Bagman, get over it. Kendall Broadmoor's really stepping into his role as leader this season, and the rest of his team is rallying behind him.
