   FRANK Frank literally pulled Emmeline off the ground when she hit rock bottom. When they were younger they bickered and hated each other like a brother and sister would at that age, but when Hogwarts hit Emmeline was grateful to have Frank around to protect her from the troubles a smart-mouth Ravenclaw was prone to get into. He was literally the only family she had when Emmeline's parents moved to France with only a letter of notice and she knows that she would never have made it through Hogwarts, the Order, or the war if it wasn't for Frank. She wanted to be a person that he would want in his life, in his son's life; Emmeline's love for Neville is nearly comparable to Frank's and it breaks her heart every day that she can't see him. Losing Frank, in all the terrible things that have happened to Emmeline in the past few years, was her greatest tragedy, but she keeps moving forward because Frank would never have let her stay down.
ANNELIESE Anneliese provides Emmeline with an escape from all the dramatics the Order and war brought her, which is ironic because Anneliese is married to a death eater. At some point, Emmeline and Will made a silent agreement to keep Anneliese in a neutral territory and it was one the best decisions Emmeline ever made. It sounds strange, but Emmeline truly believes that Will loves Anneliese more than he was dedicated to the Dark Lord and that her friend was safe. When these two are together it's like they're normal young women with silly stories, obsessions, and now constant talk about their children. Emmeline loves Anneliese's eternal optimism because she herself has never been able to look on the bright side, and is glad that she has someone with enough pep to do it for the both of them!
CARADOC I think what I love most about these two is that they were actually good friends/rivals (?) before they began seeing each other. Emmeline was always his little sister's annoying friend, but their back and forths through journals and at events showed how well they connected on many different levels. Emmeline can't deny that Caradoc was someone she'd fancied, even if it was in the back of her mind, but she'd never thought she really had a chance. When he approached her, even under their death-eater-centric circumstances, she was still excited at the prospect of being with Caradoc. He moves her, he's incredibly fascinating and that draws her closer to him every day. She lives to make him happy which sounds cliché, but Caradoc literally laid down his life for her and if the circumstances had been switched around, hell, if she'd only been able to pinpoint where that final battle had been, Emmeline wouldn't have hesitated in giving her life for him too. Emmeline is obsessed with making their lives better. Better than it was during the war, better than when their parents weren't there for them, better than anything she could have imagined for herself. He's given her a son and made her a mother which is something she thought she'd never have and Emmeline is eternally thankful for that gift. She just loves him so much! |
