FUCK YOU SHE'S AWESOME-- a meme

So I was adding some new interests to my LJ profile (because I, uh... have some new interests. Yes.) and found myself feeling defensive every time I typed a female name, thinking, basically, FUCK YOU, SHE'S AWESOME, because I felt as if someone somewhere was going to be criticizing my love for them.

So, anyway, then I made a list of women who make me want to say FUCK YOU, SHE'S AWESOME. They are far from the only women who are awesome, or the only women people need to be told to step off of, but they are the top ten I feel that way about, right now, off the top of my head.

If you want to argue with me about the awesomeness of any of these women, I am afraid I will simply be referring you to the subject line. THAT IS ALL.

1. Detective-Sergeant Karrin Murphy (yes, people have argued with me)
2. Kaylee Frye (why do people underestimate her? She has a wrench!)
3. Special Agent Dana Scully (people've argued with me about her too)
4. Sarah Jane Smith (Torchwood, you are doing it wrong. Seriously. Take a lesson from her)
5. Emma Thompson (\o/)
6. Molly Carpenter (She can end you)
7. Susan Rodriguez (TV SHOW I AM LOOKING AT YOU)
8. Barbara Wright Chesterton (*eyes certain NewWho fans narrowly, including RTD*)
9. One word: ACE. (*eyes RTD again*)
10. Evelyn Carnahan O'Connell (scary woman when she wants to be)

And one more, because I simply couldn't cut her out...

11. Elizabeth I. ROSALIND MILES I AM LOOKING AT YOU. Anyone who treated Elizabeth like you have Robin Dudley treating her would've lost his head in about a nanosecond.

The people who argue with me about Murphy being awesome have mostly only read the first book, in which, you must admit, she's not very awesome. However, I tell them that she's not very awesome in the first book because Harry was f'n lying to her, so she didn't have the information she needed to be awesome. She just gets better...
Also, people think Ace is not awesome because she's a female OldSkool companion, and therefore only screams and twists her ankle. Hence Barbara and Sarah Jane's inclusions as well. RTD doesn't really like the OldSkool girls for some reason.
Ace also has a few daddy issues, but Seven helps her work them out. While being a manipulative bastard. But still.

	Well, yeah, that's pretty much what "for some reason" translates to. Mind you, he seems to have done pretty well by Donna, in her one episode, anyway. Here's hoping she gets treated better than poor Martha. Rose is pretty awesome. She just doesn't deserve to supersede all the other awesome girls RTD doesn't like. Like Barbara. And Sarah Jane. 	I'm not familiar with any of the old companions, save a small measure of Sarah Jane, but given the rest of your list, I'm inclined to believe you fifty thousand percent. Fuck anyone that says otherwise! clutches Molly, who at 14 had more awesome in her left pinky than they will ever have (Reply to this)

Susan may be a bit ambitious and prone to doing not so smart things in the name of a story, but she's not an airhead. Plus she can pick up a washing machine and kill you with it.
