Graeme!
In attempt to calm her fury at the news of Rachel's pregnancy, Giada was using her Sunday to work on the nursery for her bundle of joy. Bundle of joy! That is what a baby was, not some secret that you keep hidden under your robes for months and refused to share the news with the world. Ooooh, she could not believe Rachel. They had been best friend for as long as she could remember and! How could she keep something this huge from her? And Gabriel. Giada had actually liked him, she thought he was a good match for Rachel, but now she hoped that his pretty face got hit with a bat-bogey hex.

Giada frowned, once again forcing the angry thoughts away so that she could focus. The corner of their bedroom was slowly being transformed into a little world for their baby. They definitely needed to start thinking about getting a bigger place, but Giada didn't think they could risk that while the record shop was still relatively new. For now, a nice paint job and a crib that fit snugly into the corner of the room would have to suffice. They'd get a house when they could afford a house, she was sure the baby wouldn't mind sharing a room with his parents for a while.

She heard Graeme enter the room, but didn't break her gaze from the space of wall over the crib. Giada twirled her wand around, and began to draw shapes in the air, "It's missing something and I can't figure out what."

Apparently Graeme Dorny was a bit of an idiot, thinking that things would be a bit less stressful now that He-who-shall-not-be-named was dead and gone. He had lived through so much, he and Giada both, and were much wiser now than they were back in Hogwarts…but no matter how wise he got, he still found himself completely baffled by the inner workings of the female mind.

Rachel Corner was going to be the death of him, he was sure of it. Being Giada’s best friend meant that he had to deal with her more than he would ever choose to, if he had a choice in the matter, but the woman was definitely worthy of giving almost anyone an ulcer. How Gabriel had survived this long without falling ill to something, whether it be the aforementioned ulcer or even a freakin’ stroke, Graeme wasn’t sure.

All he knew was that he didn’t like seeing Giada so upset. Rachel definitely wasn’t on his list of favorite people at the moment.

After rummaging through the kitchen, Graeme had stuffed his hand into a box of fruit loops that were sitting on the counter, and with a palm full of the fruity cereal he entered into their bedroom, popping a yellow and a purple one into his mouth, munching on them rather contently as he approached his wife’s side. His gaze followed her over to the crib, and shrugged his shoulders slightly.

“A baby?”

He was being a smart ass, and gave her a crooked smile before looking above the crib.

“Oh, the wall. Right.”

He gave a thoughtful hum, popped another yellow puff into his mouth (he was saving the red and the blue for last), and then offered them to Giada as he studied the blank spot.

“This is why I didn’t get into interior design. I’m made of complete fail when it comes to decorating.”

"Ha, ha," Giada let out sarcastically, her hand instinctively going to her stomach, as if to soothe whatever offended feelings the baby might have had at the comment. Not that it was an offensive comment, but anything regarding their boy made Giada either prickle with excitement or get antsy with nerves.

She was extremely excited to have the baby, but she also very nervous about being a mum. All she really knew was her mother's inconsistent parenting skills, and now after being disowned she didn't have the chance to ask her anything even if she wanted to. Ally would be there, and her friends, but it was all very scary and new.

She mindlessly took the offered cereal and munched on it thoughtfully, hoping to be inspired by the sugary treat. It seemed to work, because Giada let out a squeak and nearly crunched all of the puffs in her closed fist.

"Ohhhh, we could----like the paint of the Great Hall's ceiling, we could use it for the sunrise and sunset---his name could be in the clouds and then in constellations at night----it'd be perfect----" Giada frowned, finally turning to Graeme, "---if he had a name."
