Ted Tonks was currently a flying tornado of doom. He was the storm of the century, looking around for his paper that he seemed to have misplaced. It was nowhere to be found! He searched the entire Ministry, even looking in places like Law Enforcement and the Auror Headquarters -- he was, of course, working in the Department of Magical Games and Sports, and not any of these other departments, but he had to find his papers so they could be sent off to the proper place! And here they were, running about the Ministry without his permission! He zoomed around each floor (making sure to wave enthusiastically at Lucius Malfoy who looked very irritated with him) until he finally stopped at Andromeda's desk.

"Andy! Darling! Sunshine! Light of my life!" he said with exasperation, gasping for air. "I wouldn't be asking this normally -- but -- have you seen some yellow papers?"

Andy blinked slowly, looking up from her desk, which was currently covered in yellow papers.

"Are you joking?" She asked nastily. It was a public place, and she was a Black, after all, and even if she didn't agree with what her family said about muggleborns (Ted was a perfectly nice guy, for example), she still couldn't really be seen cohorting with them.

Or maybe she just wanted to play hard to get. It was difficult, with Andy.

He looked at Andromeda in confusion for a few seconds before looking down to her desk. "Oh. Right! They're all yellow here." Ted started snooping around a few of her papers. "Any of those say Department of Magical Games and Sports?" he asked curiously. "Because I'm serious when I say that you'd be the light of my life if they were."

Andy smacked his hands away, knowing full well that if she didn't, her perfectly organized desk would be a disaster area.

"They're not here, you know that! Did you try looking in your top drawer in that little folder thing where all of your papers always end up being?"

He put his hands up in surrender when she started smacking at them because he KNEW it would result in him breaking a nail or something horribly awful, otherwise. It always did.

"Uh, duh. Why else would I be here if I didn't?" Ted asked, making a mental checklist to go check that little folder thing when he got back to his office.

Andy rolled her eyes heavily, getting up and leading him back to his office, trying to hide her wince as she surveyed the area.

"You've really got to work on your cleaning spells," she mumbled, bending over to dis through his drawer and find the papers for him.

He put his hands in his pockets and watched her look for his forms, knowing that it was useless to look for them himself. If anyone could find them, she could.

"What? I'm a muggleborn, Andy! These things don't come so naturally to me! You've got five billion generations of Wizard in you. You'd do SO much better at cleaning spells than I would. And this place is pretty clean. I don't know what you're talking about." And then he promptly stumbled over a trash bin, holding onto his desk to regain his balance.

She lifted her head to shoot him a look, knowing he'd just slipped over something and nearly broken his neck. She found the documents and handed them to him, and then took out her wand, mumbling some cleaning spells that got his office in perfect order.

"If I come back in here and it's a train wreck again," she said, poking him in the chest with a manicured fingernail, "You will be hurt. Remember that, Tonks."

He put his hands up in surrender when she poked him in the chest. "Now, Andrew, no need to get hasty... it's just an office! Things happen! Things go missing. Things are willy-nilly and other things!" Ted really had no idea what he was talking about anymore. "But seriously, thanks for these," he told her, holding up the papers.

Andy narrowed her eyes at the nickname, and didn't even dignify him with an answer as she stepped around and out of his office (maybe giving him a little hip check as she did so) and back to her own desk.

His mouth opened and closed uselessly as she left, and standing alone in his office for a few moments, he was right back out of his and scrambling over to hers in a few short seconds.

"Were you serious about that hurting thing? What'll you do? Because for real, you should stay away from my chest. It's gotten really manly. I've been... working out." He cleared his throat. "And stuff." He flexed his muscles for good measure.

Andy gave him a Look, picking up her quill and scribbling a few notes on a piece of parchment.

"Someone wanted me to give you this message," she said, handing it to him without looking. "Now scurry away, Tonks. Go gather your information on quaffles or whatever it is that you do."

She turned back to the desk, concentrating hard on the paper in front of her and not the one she'd just written.

Meet me for lunch later? 3pm.

He stared at the piece of parchment in front of him for a long time, gaping. Then, he looked back up at her -- then back down at the paper. Once he had regained his sense of EVERYTHING, Ted grinned widely and walked in a daze back to his office, doing what he was told.

It didn't, however, stop him from trying to catch a glance of her, sitting at every angle of his desk. He caught a peek of her hair and grinned, looking over every few minutes over the next couple hours.

At two-fifty-four, he took a breath mint and checked his hair as his stomach growled fiercely. Taking a deep breath, he walked over to her desk. "Shall we?" he asked casually, though he was feeling anything but casual right now.

Andy realized a little too late that she should have been a bit more specific with her note. They couldn't just meet right here out in the middle of the office, even if everyone else had already gone to lunch.

Well, maybe they could.

She nodded at him, fixing a pile on her desk and grabbed her bag, walking around her desk and out the door, expecting him to follow.

He followed her around wherever he could, just like a little lost puppy. In some ways, he didn't really mind that he had to trail behind her until they were outside -- Ted was just happy to be spending some quality time with her. Once they were out, he asked expectantly, "So? Where are we going?"

"I have no bloody idea," she grinned at him, reaching out for his hand. She had a scarf on, and her sunglasses, and she was sure no one would recognize her. Her family's wrath wasn't something she was quite ready to face.

"Somewhere quiet, I think."

He walked beside her, interlocking fingers in this very rare moment. Ted knew he had to be careful right now and not test any new boundaries, so he just stayed his same self. "Quiet. I know just the place for that," Ted told her with a grin.

Turning a corner, he made his way towards the Muggle exit of the Ministry. "Unless, of course, you're deathly afraid of Muggles." He gave her a challenging sort of look.

Andy raised her eyebrow in response. He knew better than to challenge her like that, and she hoped it was a joke. She was literally putting her life at stake by doing this.

But she also couldn't back down from a challenge.

"Of course not, lead the way."

"Good." Keeping her hand firmly in his, he led them outside to Muggle London, admiring the busy shops and bustling crowds. "Keep close," Ted whispered, pulling her closer by her hand and then leading them off to a much less crowded side-street. Just around the corner, there was a little French café, empty and secluded. "Is this what you had in mind?" he asked her curiously.

She smiled brightly at him, leaning forward to peck him on the nose quickly before letting go of his hand and stepping away, towards the cafe.

"This looks wonderful," she said, beaming. She was just glad to be with him.

He blinked as she kissed his nose, now thoroughly confused. Did he do something right? He must have, since this was probably the best day of his life. Forever.

"Of course it does," Ted said, his confidence coming back. He trailed after her, sitting at a table outside of the cafe. He even pulled out her chair -- because that's what gentlemen were supposed to do. And then Ted realized that people probably haven't done that since the 1920s or something and he felt sheepish. He scratched the back of his neck and plopped down into the seat across from her.

Andy thought it was adorable when he pulled the chair out for her. She'd had men pulling chairs out for her all the time, but it was just cute when Ted did it. She liked it.

"What are you getting?"

Andy furrowed her brow and then looked down at her menu, letting out a laugh.

"So it is!" She could read French perfectly fine, but she knew he couldn't.

"Just order a croque-monsieur. It's like a grilled ham and cheese sandwich."

"The French HAVE that?" he asked incredulously. "Andy, are you sure you're not sabotaging me to be getting goat intestines?" Ted sighed dramatically. "Because I don't do goat intestines."

"Yes, they have that, it's a delicacy or something," she told him, rolling her eyes. "Aren't you Scottish? Don't you live off goat intestines? And I'm offended. I've been studying French since I was barely five years old. You ought to know better than to question me."
