Ruth fights hard against an uncharitable thought, the question of whether Mrs. Jill is very into anything beyond cheap liquor. That was completely inappropriate to think, even though she'd never say it. She just clutches Jay a little more.
Eventually, she's laughing a little at the haircutting scene. recalling her own childhood attempt to act on... very outdated information regarding hair donation. She buries her face in Jay's chest. "I would like to point out how clearly it is cool when they do it."
