Email: tj_mccarron@yahoo.com
AIM (if you have one): GoggleBoy83
Character Name: Bentley Wittman the 23rd, "Ben 23"
Character LJ (if applicable): wiz_kid
Physical description (face, build, weight): Babyfaced with short brunette hair, but an average and healthy build.
Age: Mentally between Franklin and Valeria, biologically younger than Valeria. Clones. Go fig.
Birthday:
PB: (If using one.)Callan McAuliffe
Codename: The Magician

Abilities: Bentley has no superhuman attributes other than his supergenius intellect, seemingly inherited from his genetic forebearer, The Wizard. He has been educated as one of the founding class of the Future Foundation, and as such, is generally proficient with most any technology in the Baxter Building.
He's really smart.
Bentley also studied and became very proficient in the forms of legerdemain his forebearer favored, such as stage magic, escapism, and mastery of disguise.
His preferred mode of exercise, and combat, is boxing. He got interested after watching matches with Ben Grimm, and the first time he attempted a crotch-shot on someone wearing a cup taught him he needed a few more options in a close-up fight.
Weaknesses and flaws: Bentley is, at best, socially awkward. When necessary, he can bluster his way through a situation, but sufficient pressure usually causes him to retreat, or defer to someone else in a group operation. He is still cheerful overall, but with a villain-themed wit. If he tells you you would make a good minion, or that you will be spared when the time comes for him to rule the world, that generally means he likes you.
When given a design or task-oriented goal to focus on, Bentley is an excellent team player, but if lacking specific instructions, will try to take control.
A particular tic of his is shaving twice a day, ritualistically, and an aversion to any kind of headgear besides goggles. He is especially sensitive on the subject of his father, and is easily agitated over mentions of him. He considers any Von Dooms his rivals.

Character location/Home: Baxter Building, New York City by default, but loves to travel.
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Team: Future Foundation
Relatives (living/dead?): Bentley Wittman, The Wizard (genetic forebearer, deceased); Reed Richards (legal guardian)
Backstory: The Wizard, Bentley Wittman, had gone quite mad by the time he started cloning himself to use as pilots for nuclear powered mech-suits. Reed Richards intervened in time to save the twenty-third in the series, the only survivor from Wittman's mad trials. After a brief period in foster care, Reed decided he would help the child become something better than his forebearer. He was taken into the custody of the Richards family as a ward of the Baxter Building, and was part of the founding class of the Future Foundation. Initially intensely socially withdrawn, '23' felt he did not have the right to a name until he earned one. By the time he was next able to confront his 'father', he had asserted that he deserved the name 'Bentley'.

Bentley grew into an uncontested genius, like his father and classmates. He took an unprecedented joy in the notions of world domination, subjugating others beneath his heel, and also dinosaurs and pop-tarts. He also had an intense aptitude for weapons systems . The other members of the Foundation were his extended family, to varying degrees. He also decided somewhere along the way that it was his destiny to become a Sith Lord.

Once Reed and Susan gave him leave, he took off to work on his first doctorate and ended up working on an international project for monster defense systems in the Pacific. Upon receiving a call from his friend/nemesis/rival/possible treacherous lieutenant, Vincent Vernard, he accepted an invitation to come home.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Coming back from his work on monster defense systems to take Vincent's place at the Baxter Building
What are you planning to do with this character? He's less proactive than most 'heroes', and not as much of an explorer as the F4 are, but he loves building beneficial things. Or bombs. I'd like to have him work with other technology-minded individuals. An offhand idea is a support group meeting for children of supervillains.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I'd like to show him interacting with others in general. He's a very nice young man, he's just still working to overcome how damaged he is from his unnatural acceleration. Bentley understands that he's not quite right, and he works hard to deal with it. It's just a lifelong process.

~Addendum~
At this stage, I am equally happy with moving Vincent to either the Champions, or to the Avengers' resulting West Coast team.

If there are five current members who would actively like moving their characters onto a new Avengers lineup, please say so. If we lack for volunteers, then the Champions will default.
If he /does/ go to the Avengers, I'd like him to have an active role in building the new headquarters and helping the division of the team get settled.
"Here, I can build." is still resonating very strongly with me for him. He doesn't want to lead, but he wants to do all he can to help.

I am still open to either team, so anyone who would prefer Vincent on the Champions is more than welcome to speak up. (:
