• yvette cristal acosta was born in new york city, new york on october 31, 1990. most are quick to point out how the girl was born on all hollow's eve but her life wasn't at all dark and monstrous. she was the first child of world renowned record company owner, juan gabriel acosta, and famous jeweler, elaine rochelle dalton so amidst the irony of her birth day, her future was to be exceedingly bright.
• since her father's record company's main office was in new york city, yvette would not arrive in salt lake city, utah until days before the start of the sixth grade. her mother was a descendant of one of the richest and oldest families to have established in salt lake city and when she grew too homesick to say in new york, she opened up yet another jewelry store right in the city and relocated to the family's estate which was left to her when her parents died of old age.
• yvette had to have been the daddy's girl of all daddy's girl so naturally, the girl was one hundred percent against leaving her father behind in new york. even with him sitting down and explaining the situation to her, she was only ten years old and refused to make reason. she fussed, fought, and cried throughout the entire plane ride and it wasn't until she met her future best friends and eternal lifemates,
kaela and
nina, that she'd finally be happy about moving.
• as a child, yvette was naturally curious and always getting herself into some sort of trouble. living in a large home gave her infinite chances at taking adventures and with being so little, she easily escaped all watchful eyes becoming a hide and go seek expert. however, as she grew older, her parents began to become more orderly and strict with her care. she was her father's angel but the man was infamously known for being one of the biggest assholes in the music industry and one of the most rigorous/strict workers. he expected her to be perfect and the best at all that she did, including getting nothing but a's in school. her mother was no help to the girl either because she was quite the fierce woman herself. when her father went back to new york, her mother would take over.
• yvette started getting into volleyball early into her seventh grade year and took the sport to a whole new level. she used it to release all of her pent up aggression towards her strict parents and became almost untouchable. no one could tell her anything when she was on the volleyball court and when she made the varsity team as a freshman, scouts were already coming to see her play. her success in the sport made her father come to utah more often than he did normally and though she was more than happy to have her father around, yvette felt as though he was only coming to have the press show off what a hit his daughter was which would add to his notoriety and only got on her nerves.
• towards the middle of yvette's ninth grade year, elaine gave birth to their second and last child, juan gabriel acosta II. from the day that he was born, yvette was instantly attached to him. he shifted their parents' attention from her and that was all she needed, freedom. she made sure she played an active role in her brother's life and when she was home, there was nothing that could possibly keep her away from him besides being nagged to finish her homework. even though he was so little, he became another one of her best friends. she was able to confess to him things she felt as though she could not confess to anyone else.
• because her name alone came with a lot of popularity, it was no surprise that yvette became one of the popular girls in school along with her two other halves. she was indeed her father's child when it came with dealing with people she hardly knew. she was taught to never trust a person until she really got to know them and to be cautious even then. she had a problem with not knowing whether a person wanted to really be her friend or just wanted to at least been seen with her enough to get their name out there or to get her father to sign them. she felt no need to make friends outside of the ones she already had and thus came off as a snob who only cared about herself and two other people.
• what only a select few people know is that she's really one of the coolest and funniest girls around who does indeed have a heart underneath that infamous cold stare of hers. she cares for her younger brother as if he was her own child and he gives her a sense of humility that her parents seem to lack or had forgotten to instill in their first born. she just likes to have a good time and usually she's only mean towards a person if they give her a reason to which usually results from them saying what they shouldn't say about her friends and family.
