zayn had managed to sneak out of the studio about a hour or so ago, harry still in the booth recording his part of the current song that they had been working on. zayn had everything planned out in his head for what he wanted to do, to surprise his boyfriend so he had said bye to the rest of his friends and made his way out to purchase all the items that he would need, of course stopping to pose for pictures and sign autographs on the way - actually getting a couple of the girls to help him out with his plan. giving them a bag each, he set them on their way to the closest park and told him how he wanted things to be placed and what to look like - figuring to himself that it was actually not bad having the status that he did now otherwise this would have taken him twice as long. he started to scribble down short notes on individual pieces of paper, taping them to single roses and then taping them to places that harry would be able to find them - some of them red, some white, some pink and some yellow. making his way back to the studio, the first one he taped to the entrance door with a note that read "walk for about 40 seconds straight, don't cross any roads, don't turn any corners and you should find your next directions. zayn xo." he turned to the fans that were all watching on with curious eyes and gave them all a warning look, "no one touch that, it's important. i'll be really upset if any of you take it down." he warned, not usually one for speaking to them in that way but he could see them all looking at him differently, proof that zayn wasn't as bad as a lot of them thought and actually kind of romantic. he started to run back to the park now, texting harry on the way. "hey baby, when you come out of the studio. make sure to look all around you, there's something out there that you need to find, love you." with that, he shoved his phone away and made it back into the park, making sure everything had been set in the way that he wanted it.

harry had seen zayn leaving whilst he was in the recording booth and knew he was up to something. it wasn't like he could do anything about it, though as he still wasn't done laying his vocals down and was pretty much stuck. after about an hour and a half later he finally received that text from his boyfriend and his brow raised, "what the.." niall leaned over to read what was on his screen and he chuckled a bit, "looks like zayn's gonna surprise you back from when you did the whole late night picnic thing. go on, go.. before they call you back into the booth." he pushed at harry's back so he'd start to stand. it was true, they could try and call him at any moment - he'd been out of the booth for about a half an hour now while liam was laying down his own vocals. he started to head out of the studio and caught sight of the note. his brow raised and he picked it up to which all the girls started giggling. they begged him to take photos quickly before he headed off on his adenture and he reluctantly agreed before walking down to find his next note.

( we're heading off to dinner around like 5ish and then seeing my dad so i'd say we'll probably be back at like 9:30 my time? idk i'm not too great at estimating time but dinner can take an hour and a half to 2 hours or so at a restaurant and then obv we gotta drive to the hospital and then visit for a few hours :( ij still wouldn't load for me so i just replied here )

back at his spot in the park, zayn looked at what the girls had done for him and it was even better than he thought he could have done himself which caused him to grin brightly. "thank you, ladies." he said, leaning in to hug each one of them. "he's very lucky and he is going to love this." they both said, not being able to stop giggling, and zayn knowing himself that this was going to be all over the internet within a minute of the fans leaving but most people were aware that harry and zayn were together now so it didn't really matter to him. "i can only hope so." he chuckled, knowing that by now harry could have been on to his third or fourth note and collecting up his flowers as well as the notes. grabbing his phone he sent the younger boy another text. "where are you babe? how many notes have you got? do you think you're close yet?" putting his phone back in his pocket, he ushered the girls away who were still giggling, waiting to see how close his boyfriend was so he could add the final touches to his surprise for him.

harry continued to walk along, collecting the roses and notes. he read each instruction and followed them. once he felt his phone buzzing, he stopped for a minute to pull it out and read it. he quickly pulled up to respond and started typing, "um.. i'm on the fourth one right now, how many are left? i have no idea if i'm close or not..." hitting send, he slipped it back into his pocket and continued on to find the fifth note and rose.

( idk well it was loading slowly so i just xed out instead of waiting to see if it actually did load or not :[ it could be my internet, maybe it's running slowly since i only just got the power back. but yeahh i'm heading out now :[ )

reading his text back from harry, he looked at it and bit on his lower lip. "yeah, you have two left to go, you're almost here." he took in a deep breath and grabbed his lighter from his pocket and moved to the candles that were set out, lighting each one of them individually, he thanked god for it just beginning to get a little dark. his candles spelled out 'i love you' with candles placed in the shape of a heart - well, as close to a heart as they could get. he had a little blanket and a bottle of wine for them to share, two plastic cups and some ice that was slowly beginning to melt. he knew it wasn't the best but it was the best that he could manage right now seeing as neither of them were at their own homes. he took the rest of the roses he had and ripped the head off them all, scattering the petals around the blanket and waited for his boyfriend to arrive. hoping he wouldn't find this all too lame.

(it's been working fine for a couple of hours now but alrighty. i'm actually going out myself now so have fun :) )

"you didn't say no, no, but you didn't seem as though you were very up for it either." he shrugged, sloshing the liquid around in the bottom of his cup. honestly, zayn had just wanted harry to be touching in some way, it felt like an age since the two of them had been sexual with one another and the older boy was beginning to crave his boyfriend's touch in any way he could have it. he looked up at the sky, noticing how the sky was changing colour, it wouldn't be too much longer until it was pitch black. "we should probably head back soonish anyway."

"that's not true, i was just making a joke.. c'mon do you not know me by now? if you don't want to anymore we don't have to, but i would be up for it.." harry reached over to take the cup out of zayn's hand, setting it down on the blanket next to his own and made him look him in the eyes so he could tell he was serious. he too was missing the intimacy between them even if it really hadn't been all that long - they just craved one another too much.
