I think he may be feigning ignorance so he doesn't have to take his wrath out on us, to be honest.

It's--muggles have these things called comic books about...well, some of the characters have super powers like the ability to fly (without a broom or anything) and mind reading and other such things. And when the super heroes are on the job and--trying to save things and such they have costumes so that people don't recognize them, yeah? Like they're incognito. Keeps their family and friends knowing what they can do--cause, it'd be a bit of a bother to try and save the world and then have your mum constantly asking if you can use your super strength to open jars for her.
