Archie!
Her husband was doing a very, very good job at the Ministry. Such a good job, in fact, that he'd taken to sometimes going in the office on Sundays to get a jump start on the week. Which was good, he was a good worker, a hard worker (Izzie often forgot that he was not a Hufflepuff), and he impressed his superiors (which there were fewer of, as her husband gained more and more success!). So fine, sure, that was all swell and good, but on a beautiful Sunday with Ernie at his grandparents and all the acres upon acres of the MacMillan Manor empty save for Izzie and the mouse she could not catch, she really wanted her husband to be a slacker. To lie in bed all day with her without a care in the world and simply relax and be peaceful.

Being alone in the manor only managed to remind Izzie that she was still not pregnant even after months of trying and jumping Archie at every possible second. She knew there was a timing issue, of course, but she couldn't seem to figure it out. How had they made Ernie without a second thought (or any thought, really--) and now that a sibling was desired, it seemed like a hopeless case? Izzie reminded herself, as she stood on a chair in the kitchen to shriek at the mouse that had darted under the fridge, that she actually was a hard-working Hufflepuff and should take matters into her own hands.

It didn't take her long to get to the Ministry, and she was surprised to see that it actually wasn't a desolate work place on Sunday morning. There were people moving about, definitely not as busy as it would be tomorrow, but there were some other workaholics that had come in today. Izzie waved her visitor's pass at the security guard and made her way up to where Archie's office was, and when she reached his door took a moment to smile and observe her husband in his element. She tightened the yellow spring coat around her smiled, "You've got a guest, Mr. MacMillan."

Minister's Birthday Gala! Open to Everyone!
Katerina let out a long, bored breath. It seemed like the Ministry had been holding an extravagant event every other weekend, as if they had nothing better to do. Of course there was so much to be done every day of every week, but with You-Know-Who gone and most of the death eaters either dead or behind bars, it seemed like the events committee had way too much time on their hands.

At least she got to go dress shopping. As Katerina declined a dance from a fellow in her department, she wondered if she actually had to wait for the Minister to blow out the candles of her cake before she could leave. It was supposed to be such an honor to be invited to these events, but when everyone was invited it took away the glamor, and then you were expected to sit around for a good two hours so that your department head could make sure you were making him look good.

She really needed a drink, or a hot bloke to start talking to her. On days like this Katerina envied her older sister, whose sole purpose in life was to marry rich, pureblooded men. It only took her a few moments to recall that her sister had seven dead husbands to deal with, and now a son for the rest of her life. Yes---Katerina would much rather be forced to mingle at these events than carry those sort of stories on her shoulders.

But, at the moment, she was bored, and let out a sigh in hopes that some handsome bloke would become concerned.

Archie!!!!
She had not done many rash or stupid things since Caradoc had disappeared the first time. As Emmeline ducked through the open doors of the ministry lift as a custodian boarded, hiding under her invisibility cloak, she figured it was about time. Caradoc was back, that meant it was time to start making ridiculous decisions and jumping into things she could probably not get out of by herself. Emmeline didn't know how she managed to keep her heavy breaths hidden from the custodian as the elevator lowered and twisted itself down the floors of the ministry, but she thanked whatever song he had stuck in his head that had him humming loud enough not to hear her.

Emmeline had nearly splinched herself when Archie's patronus had arrived. After his accident last year during the earthquake, and with all the mess that was going on (he was a father now, her favorite uncle was a father), she had thought it would be for the best to teach him how to send a messenger patronus. Emmeline had hidden the lesson under the thin veil of having read it in a book and found it interesting, because she knew it would not take much for Archie to question her intentions, but it would take even less for him to be excited about learning the rather difficult bit of magic.

Bottom floor, bottom floor. Emmeline reached into her pocket and pulled out a small vial of a molten gold liquid. For the last birthday Caradoc had been around for, he had provided her with a small dosage of Felix Felicis, claiming that he had done a few illegal things to obtain the potion, and that she should only use it for something of great importance as she was constantly getting into trouble and should not waste it on a trivial mission. Emmeline hadn't felt the need until this night, and she quickly drank half the vial, stuffing the rest in her pocket in hopes of being able to give it to her uncle.

Ooh. She straightened up and felt a great wave of energy pass over her. Tonight was going to be a good night! She nearly skipped out of the lift, and if she'd been a second late she would not have noticed the cloaked figure heading into a door that was clearly a classified room. If she hadn't hurried out of the lift as fast as she had, she would not have overheard the password, 'Lenore.' Ahh, how lucky.

Corner/Englewood Wedding! For New Year's Eve!
Getting married was absolutely terrifying. No matter how smoothly Gabriel proceeded through the planning, the discussions, and the actual event, he was holding back getting sick the second he could catch a moment to himself. He knew he didn't love Rachel yet, which might be the reason why he was finding himself so nervous as they sat at the head table of their reception, but he did honestly---he did honestly believe that he could fall in love with this woman. She was fiery with a mind of her own, and though some people might be irritated by it, Gabriel actually appreciated the way she took control of things. He had always been a bit of a follower, and it was easy to agree with Rachel because her reasoning simply made sense.

The reception did look fantastic. Gabriel couldn't believe it was all put together within two short months, but then again he was learning that Rachel was a woman who set her goals and refused to leave them unfinished. Maybe he should look at that as a good thing; surely someone who did not want to get married would not have put so much effort into the ceremony? Or she simply wanted to throw the most beautiful wedding of them all, simply because she could. He didn't know, and didn't mind not finding out as long as they remained content with each other.

He did find her very interesting, however, and that was the first thing a Ravenclaw looked for in a spouse. Maybe all of his concerns were for naught, and it was simply wedding day jitters. His parents had been arranged in a similar manner, and they were still quite happily married (and sometimes nauseatingly sweet about it, too). Gabriel turned and smiled at Rachel, pushing his chair out and offering his hand, "Would you like to dance?"

A chorus of glasses clinging supported Gabriel, and he flushed slightly at all the attention that was on them, once again.
