❧(Dated September 5, 2011) When does Ludus open?
Ludus is currently undergoing a 'soft-opening'. Thus at the moment, as things are setting up and we're still working on the logistics of everything, applications are open for submission. Once your character is accepted, he/she/it is free to interact with other characters until the Grand Opening (around Mid-October-ish) where lessons and the plot really start.
❧Is there a form of currency in Ludus?
Yes! It is known as Ludus Gold (abbreviated as LG). The real life equivalent of 1 LG would be roughly equal 1 Euro. The 2000 LG your character receives during the Grand Opening would last about one or two months, stretching it to three if your character is extremely frugal. This should prompt your character to consider taking up an occupation or exchanging his savings at the bank. On that regard, Ludus Academy is completely free.
❧Where is my character staying?
If your character is a student, they're given a dorm room regardless of whether or not they want it or use it. Most districts are a good distance away from Ludus Academy; so it's quite common for even the locals to use the dorms as a second home. If he/she is a Miscellaneous Citizen or a staff member, they can choose to live anywhere in the mentioned districts. Please consider the social classes of the districts and the occupation of your character when deciding where you'd want your character to stay. The dorms, as with the school, are free.
SEPT52011: Note that because Ludus is currently undergoing a Soft-Opening, your character will just be given a random dorm room. Whom he rooms with is up to you until the event of the Grand Opening where students will be shuffled and placed accordingly for the duration of the term.
❧So what does my character do here?
Your character can learn a thing or two at Ludus Academy. Explore and get immersed in the vast city. Get involved in both player-created and Ludus-wide events. Interact with other characters. It's entirely up to them. There are monthly large events that occur at a random point in the month that affect everyone. These events unfold into a larger story. There are also a lot of little events we have planned to enhance character relationships.
❧Can I pitch RP events to the Moderators?
Of course you may! Please note the Moderating Team if you have any event pitch that you'd like to see played out in Ludus. When noting, please include: the event pitch/scenario, where in Ludus the event will take place, who can or cannot participate in the event, and the requirements to participate in the event (if any). The mods will note you back if your event is acceptable to be played out or not. When the pitched event will take place will be up to the discretion of the mods.
❧Can I make a building/place in Ludus?
Talk the mods about it! We're pretty okay with you making minor establishments like bookshops, daycares, cafes, etc... If you want to work a plots/events within the new location, again pitch it to us. We'll talk it over. Our only requirement is that the location must be 'new' and not 'was always there, you just sort of missed it'.
❧Am I allowed to add Beasts to the Beastiary?
Go ahead! Be as descriptive as you want.
❧How does my character understand other people?
All Alvarium's come equipped with a translation matrix that translates the languages of other people for you. There's a guide on it: here.
❧Can I make a teacher/staff?
For teachers, not at the moment. For other staff members, let us listen to your pitch; talk to us.
❧What do I get if I complete a door?
Sometimes a new spell, sometimes armor for your character or something cool and pointy. It depends on the professor.
❧I've never roleplayed on the journal format before, I'm so confused.

Basically it's a format that uses both play by post and character blogs.
❧Which the hell is for what?
DeviantArt Group - Completing doors, submitting art, applying to the Roleplay, everything else not mentioned.
The Chairman - Documentation, a nicer, wordier version of everything on the DA blog.
Ludus - Main community where your character can interact with the whole of Ludus. Where RP-ing goes. Events too.
Ludus OOC - Out of character community! Say hi! Memes, etc. anything not in-character.
Ludus Logs - For consistency's sake, any RP done over notes/chats/skype goes here.
Character Journal - Posts made from their Alvarium (texts/blog entries/doodles or 'pictures' of daily life). Private RPs also here.
❧How do I keep track of everyone?
Apart from watching the communities and other people. After the Grand Opening, the mods will provide a collective 'Add/Remove' Friends button that will be updated monthly. New characters will be added, whilst characters that have left us will be removed from the list.
❧Does Ludus have a plot?
Perhaps. All will be revealed as time passes.
❧What does The Chairman look like?
Like The Chairman.
❧I need to rant about something! Player X is doing something against the rules or omfgggg plotholes.

❧Can I make a Citizen a Graduate of Ludus?
Yes. However, consider the fact that most people don't bother reaching past Exceptional in a few subjects. Peerless students are extremely rare.
❧Can my character drop out of lessons but still roleplay with the group?
Again, Ludus believes in learning at his or her own pace. So that's no problem. Note us about it though.
❧How long does each door take in my character's time?
It depends on the difficulty. Some professors may choose to even give you a time limit.
❧Are we allowed to start our own Guilds/Factions/Clubs within Ludus?
Depends if it's plot heavy or not. If it's something like 'Ludus Flower Appreciation Society' or a 'Bookclub' - most likely yes. Criminal Organizations or something darker and plottier? Either way, note us. If you wish to join a set group; you may ONLY enter as applicants or interested people to that particular since they are new to the city and the school.
