Testing 1...2...3...
Elodie LeBeau left her shoe box of an apartment and wandered downstairs. Not even in New York three weeks and she already had a favorite little diner to go to. She tucked her hands in her pockets and moved with the crowd to the cross walk before turning left down the block towards the diner. The streets were always crowded with quick busy people; it was very different from the streets of her hometown. El liked both she was deciding.
Abruptly, a commotion started behind her and she turned to look. A biker's handbrake wasn't working and he was careening down the sidewalk trying valiantly not to hit anyone. El bit her lip and wondered if she could catch him without drawing attention to herself. Then, she saw the group of school children headed down the street and decided it would be worth it even if she had to make a run for it afterwards.
El braced her feet and stuck out her arms just as the biker came even with her. With one hand she gripped the man's shoulder and with the other his handlebars. She could feel the ripple of forward momentum move under her skin even as she halted the man and his bike mid holler. Once she was sure he wasn't going to fall over she turned away pulling up her hood and moving quickly away from the scene of her unusual interference.
