DiversityBoth true mortals and incarnations of past deities are welcome as characters.

If you play a reincarnated deity, they never have to become aware of what they are. If people try to tell them they are this...they can choose to believe those people are nuts. Some deities are closer to the surface than others. Some are very well-integrated into their mortal host (The line between Set and Seth Mallory is nearly invisible) and others are very separate (David Matheson can transform, but he believes he's just a freak and has no idea about Raven).

Deities of any mythological pantheon may be represented. It is also more than possible that just because they were Greek or Sumerian or Norse or Polynesian or African doesn't mean that they have to be reincarnated into a mortal of that descent. Just because they were once male doesn't mean they have to be reincarnated male and vice versa.
AbilitySome remember from birth what they once were. Some never find out. Some come to this realization later in life, some earlier, it's really up to the player. Some may only ever have their memories and others may develop powers concurrent with the type they would have had as a deity.

It's possible, if a deity is "awakened" within the mortal, that they can recognize other deities in other people. This can range from just knowing that someone else is also a deity to knowing who, precisely, that deity is. Some people, especially if they don't remember what they are, might only feel a strange kinship they can't explain to someone they don't know.

Some characters may have abilities that follow along with the type of deity reincarnated within them. David, for example, can shape-shift into a raven. Some characters don't have any obvious abilities, despite what they are. Seth can't actually call up a storm (though he has an affinity for them) and seems to have no obvious powers though he does have greater physical strength than any normal man his size should have. This is an area that is greatly left up to the player to decide though common sense should be used.
InabilityReincarnated deities are not immortal. They age. They can die. They can fall ill. They can bleed.

No reincarnated deity character should have all (or even most) of the abilities they might have had as a god back in the Long Ago. David can transform (into one form and it's excruciatingly painful), but he can't "do" anything else. Alainna Sorosin can predict who might be victorious in a given match or struggle, but she cannot actually influence the outcome.
