Sirius Black was going to be the best boyfriend anyone had ever seen. Especially now since he could actually be a boyfriend in public. He just hoped that Lily didn't mind people knowing. Because if she did, he'd be in trouble. He'd already spent some of the money that had been left to him by having flowers delivered to her while she slept. So that she'd wake up to them. And he... may have filled the entire common room full of them.

But, it was a Hogsmeade weekend! He had to impress her. He'd slicked back his hair and everything, putting on a fancy suit. He had a fun filled day planned out for her and nothing was going to ruin it.

Lily woke up to a bouquet of flowers on the bedside beside her. It was a little weird, but so was Sirius. Somehow that was par tof his appeal. She got up and pulled her casual clothes on, trying to figure out why all her friends were giggling at her as she got ready to head to Hogsmede after breakfast.

She stiffled a yawn as she stumbled down the stairs with her coat in her arms, and then stopped, blinking at the room full of flowers and Sirius standing in a suit in the middle of all of it. She stared at him for a long moment before laughing and walking up to him, kissing him softly. "You are insane, Sirius Black. I think I might like it."

Sirius couldn't help but smile at her compliment. Even if it was a backwards compliment. He kissed her softly and pulled her a little closer, hand resting on her waist.

"You can't go to Hogsmeade dressed like that while I look like this." If Sirius had learned anything while being a proper Black, it was how to impress women. "That's why I bought you a dress. You'll find it in your things upstairs."

"You bought me a dress?" Lily repeated, raising an eyebrow at Sirius. Wasn't he supposed to have lost most of his money when he got disowned? Maybe it didn't work like that. Maybe pure-bloods didn't go broke like normal people went broke.

"Well, come on." She took his hand and tugged him towards the stairs, then stopped. The stairs, right. Lily looked at Sirius, raising an eyebrow at him. "Do you know how to disarm them? Because I was going to have you come up and give me your opinion on the dress, but I don't want you getting dumped on your arse. It seems like the kind of thing you would know."

"They're not too difficult. I wasn't trying to be a good boyfriend and respect your boundaries by staying in the common room." Sirius pointed out as he walked to the steps. He pulled out his wand and disarmed them, then started to walk up them with her.

"I've been up here a couple of times." Sirius admitted and then took her hand again. "I'm sure the dress will look beautiful on you."

Lily looked at the suit Sirius was wearing. If he was dressing her up in something that went with that, she'd probably be okay. "I'll look really out of place next to you if it doesn't. I was just going to bundle up against the cold."

She opened the door to her room, tossing her coat onto the bed and then finding the dress he'd got her. "You... have really good taste," Lily said, staring at it for a moment and then stripping her shirt off over her head. "This is gorgeous, Sirius. You know I would have been okay with just... a flower from the greenhouses and a butterbeer, right?"

	"I know that. But, any boy can get you a flower from the greenhouse and a butterbeer." Sirius told her as he watched her get undressed. He had to bite his lip. He was trying to be proper, after all. 	Lily looked over her shoulder at Sirius. "Well, technically you're the only boy I've ever had," she pointed out. "So you're the best by default. I don't think I count snogging Remus a couple of times before he told me he was gay." She turned and kissed him softly, then looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. "When I graduate, I'm going to get a good job in the Ministry." Sirius told her with a smile as he glanced over her shoulder to look at her in the mirror. "And I'm going to buy you nice things all the time. I promise."

Sirius spun her around and smiled, kissing her softly. "You get to choose where we go today. I thought you may want to go to Puddifoots. Girls like that place, yeah?"

	Sirius frowned at that. He didn't want to be asked about Remus and he didn't want to talk about chocolate. He'd get strawberry cake, which didn't go with Remus at all. "He's a prat." Sirius informed her and shrugged. "There's really nothing to say about that other than he's a prat. And he's seeing someone who is a known pureblood elitist, disowned or not." "Flatterer," Lily said, laughing at Sirius. She touched his hair and then leaned in to kiss him for a long moment. Once you got over his pranks and got him away from his friends for a bit, it was surprising how sweet Sirius could be. Or maybe everyone else knew about it already and that was why they all fancied him.

"i'm glad we're doing this and being public about it. I felt a little bad, making you keep this all from your friends before. Did they take it okay?" Mostly she was asking about James.

"Gay?" Lily repeated. She wondered what that said about her. She should probably try not to take it personally. "It would explain why he decided to tell everyone he was in love with a girl who thought he was an idiot. No chance he'd ever have to do anything about it."

She leaned against Sirius, looking up at him. "Do you want to shop? Just because I'm the girl doesn't mean your needs should be ignored."

	Sirius laughed at that. The fact that Lily understood him and knew that he liked to shop spoke volumes. She already knew him better than his close friends. Probably less than Peter, who was creepy about it. He kissed her. "I'd like to stock up on a bit of chocolate today. I need a new quill so I can write you love poems." "Oh God." Lily laughed and then tugged Sirius towards Honeyduke's. "Let's get the chocolate first. I need to sweets so I can stop thinking about the poetry you're going to write."

She squeezed his hand. "Did you help James with the poems he used to write me?" They had been terrible. Lily would have to be a lot nicer if Sirius was that bad. It was the thought that counted. "Some of them seemed like Remus had a lot of input." The good ones.
