Narcissa had never been to Malfoy Manor before. It was... big. She looked up at the old house as she walked down the gravel drive with Lucius and Evan. "Bella is going to visit me one day when we're here," she said. It would be her house too in a couple of years. She wasn't going to let Lucius limit who she could have over, and she knew he'd say no to her sister if he got the chance. "Your house is --" She stopped walking, staring at the large white bird crossing the path. "Is that a peacock?"

Lucius had been too distracted by the combination of Evan's proximity and his dislike for the idea of Bellatrix Lestrange being in his house to notice the bird before, but when Narcissa pointed it out he smiled. "That's Adonis," he said, stooping and snapping his fingers until the bird noticed them, hurrying over to greet Lucius with a fond coo.

Lucius hadn't wanted to come out and say it, but his mother wasn't really giving him a choice. He nodded. "Yes," he said. "He's gay. I'm not worried about how close my wife and her gay cousin are, and I have to be nice to him or he'll turn her against me. She listens to him."

Narcissa hummed, thinking about Augustus being well-endowed. "How big is huge?" she asked Evan, after a moment. "I mean..." She glanced at Lucius and his mother, but they seemed occupied. "I mean, compared to you. You seemed pretty big to me. I was sore after."

"I do not like you spending all your time wiz a gay boy." Odette frowned at her son and shook her head. "You should be spending time wiz ozers. People who are not like 'im." She sat down on one of the sofas and took a scone for herself, even if it was impolite to not wait for guests.

Evan laughed. "I'm nothing in comparison. He's longer and thicker than I am." He told her. "Don't be scared, Cissa. Just make sure he takes the proper care before he shoves it in."

"Mother, are you worried he's going to turn me?" Lucius asked, giving his mother an amused look when she took a seat. "I have other people to spend time with. You don't like them either. I'll be fine. This is just the only way I could think of to make Narcissa feel safe about her virtue while she was here." He kissed his mother's temple.

"Who said I was scared?" Narcissa asked, raising an eyebrow at Evan. She kissed his cheek and then laughed. "Come on. I need to impress Lucius's mother so she'll leave us alone." She let go of Evan, walking up to Lucius and slipping her hand into his as she smiled at his mother. "What have I missed?"

"I was telling my mother how lucky I was to have a beautiful fiance like you," Lucius said, wrapping his arm around Narcissa and then taking a seat, practically pulling her into his lap. "Try the scones. The house-elves are very good. I know how much you love tea."

Odette was careful not to give Evan any sort of dirty look, even though she wanted to. She tapped her fingers against the side of her tea cup, looking him over carefully and then smiled at Narcissa. At least she knew that she'd have beautiful grandchildren.

"Narcissa." Odette smiled at the girl. "We should 'ave discussions about which part of ze 'ouse you want when you move 'ere." She told her. "I currently 'ave my quarters on ze back part of ze manor."

Narcissa glanced at Lucius briefly. Thank God his mother was old-fashioned enough to believe in separate quarters for a married couple. "Well, I'd love to stay in a room with a view of the grounds," she said. "I have a passion for flowers."

Lucius nodded, touching Narcissa's hair. "She's very talented. One of the top students in the school in herbology," he said. "I think the east wing would be perfect for her. Down at the end."

	Odette thought about the east wing for a moment and nodded. "I believe it will be ze best. Zere are beautiful boxes of flowers in ze windows." She told the girl with a smile and then offered her a scone, ignoring Evan for now. Evan didn't know what he'd done wrong. He stared at Lucius, frowning at him for a moment, then reached for a scone. Narcissa took the scone from Odette, smiling at her. "Thank you," she said, glancing briefly at Evan. She wasn't sure what Evan had done wrong either, but apparently Odette Malfoy wasn't a fan. "It sounds lovely. I'm sure I'll be very comfortable there."

Lucius could tell his mother wasn't going to let the gay thing go easily. He glanced at Evan. "You can stay in the east wing with Narcissa," he told him. "I think there are some guest rooms there."

Evan couldn't help but frown at the woman who seemed to frown right back at him. He crossed his arms over his chest for a moment, then ran a hand through his hair. "What exactly is your problem with me, Malfoy?" He asked her, frowning. "Is it because I'm gay or because you were in love with my father when the two of you were teens?"

Odette frowned at Evan for a moment and shook her head. "Zat is very inappropriate. Who are zese boys you spend your time wiz, Luci?"

Fuck. Lucius glanced at Evan and then looked back at his mother, wishing Evan wasn't so... Hadn't decided all of the sudden that he needed to defend his own honour. "Evan and Narcissa are friends, mother," Lucius said. He let go of Narcissa and then stood up. "Rosier, come with me, would you?" Maybe things wouldn't fall apart if he separated them for a while.

Narcissa bit her bottom lip, glancing at Odette. "Evan's really lovely" she said, smiling and hoping she could help smooth things over. "It's just a bit nerve-wracking to be in such a beautiful home, trying to impress you, Mrs. Malfoy."

Evan walked with Lucius and frowned at him the entire time. "I'm not going to stay here. I'm going home." He informed Lucius and shook his head. "It's not worth being here and being treated like shite."

"You do not 'ave to impress me." Odette informed the girl and gave her a warm smile. "I know ze Rosiers. Zey believe zey are above everyone else. I was to marry 'is fazer and he chose my best friend instead."

"She'll hardly be around after today," Lucius said, reaching out and taking Evan's hand. "I told her you were gay so she didn't think you were trying to steal my wife. It was... a miscalculation on my part. Now she's worried you're going to turn me." He pulled Evan against his chest and brushed their lips together. "Don't go. Please."

"Evan's nothing like his father," Narcissa told Lucius's mother, shaking her head. "He --" She frowned a little, not sure if she should let Mrs. Malfoy know about Evan's private life. "His father has always been quite cruel to Evan and his sister. My mother refused their marriage bid for me because she didn't want me spending too much time with her brother."

Evan looked up at Lucius and let out a soft sigh. How did the other boy have this hold over him? It made him feel like he wanted to do anything for Lucius and he hated it. He kissed him back and pressed against him a little more. "Where will she go?"

Odette frowned at the girl for a moment, her fingers pulling apart the scone in her hands. "Lucius 'as responsibilities." She continued. "If 'e is wiz'is boy all ze time, it will..." She waved a hand. "Zere is danger of it already."

"She'll still be in the house," Lucius admitted, after a moment. "But she won't be around us. We can avoid her. It'll be easy. And I'll keep you very happy here." He nipped at Evan's bottom lip.

"Lucius knows his responsibilities," Narcissa said, shaking her head. "Mrs. Malfoy, you have nothing to worry about. Lucius is a very good son. He's always working at school and he's the Head Boy. He's a Malfoy. He's not going to be... distracted."

"I'm not sure you can keep me happy here with that vulture." Evan frowned up at Lucius and shook his head. "I'll be much better off camping or spending time at the Lestrange's until your mother's christmas party."

"Will you insure zat my son will not be distracted?" Odette gave Narcissa a very stern look. "It is up to you to make sure my son does as 'e is supposed to."

Lucius shook his head. "I want you here, Evan," he said, touching his cheek and then brushing their lips together again. "I love you. I want to take care of you. You should let me. Just stay in my bed until the party."

"Of course," Narcissa said, smiling at Odette. "I'll keep Lucius happily occupied, Mrs. Malfoy. You have nothing to worry about. He's a good son. He cares about you a great deal."

"No, you don't," Lucius said, smiling at Evan and sliding a hand under his shirt. "But I think it's cute that you're pretending." He kissed down Evan's neck, nipping gently at his skin. "Stay."

Narcissa was pretty sure Odette had just told her to have sex with Lucius. She stared at the woman and then nodded. "Of course," she said. "I think I know what you mean. I can invite Lucius to help me settle into my rooms tonight."

"You --" Lucius hesitated, pulling back to look at Evan. He frowned at the grin on his face. "You're a conniving bastard," he told him. "Fine. We can... try it your way. Just this once."

Narcissa nodded, getting to her feet too. She let Odette leave, then went in search of Evan and Lucius, sighing when she saw them cuddled up together. "Your mother just ordered me to have sex with you," she told Lucius. "And you two are out here snogging? I'm doing all the work."
