Draco watched Pansy sitting next to Rider, feeding him bacon, and felt confused. Romy seemed as weirded out by their new couple status as he was, judging by how quiet she'd been all morning. "I thought their were fighting on the train on the way here," he said, looking down at his girlfriend. "It's so odd."

He touched Romy's hair, giving her a small smile. "Did it take long for you to get your brother settled in last night? I was looking for you."

"I know," Draco said. He smiled back at Romy and kissed her cheek. "I'm sorry I've been slacking. I haven't been a very good boyfriend lately. I promise I'll change that. Do you want to go to class? We can get there early and cuddle."

Rider scowled at Pansy, getting to his feet. "If I was more like Walden, I'd punch you in the cunt," he told her. "Romy's not a shallow bitch. You are. You think you know her, but you don't. She's doing this in her father's memory, but she won't say yes to him. She doesn't love him."

Romy sighed softly and nodded. "Yeah. We can go to class. You're not a bad boyfriend. You just haven't been around very much. Even after my father died."

"If she didn't love him, do you think she'd still be with him?" Pansy asked. "If she didn't want his money, do you think she'd be with him? What can you give her that Draco can't give her? Sex? Sounds like you're just a cock for her to sit on."

"I'm here now," Draco said, walking down the hall with Romy. "I'm not going anywhere." He kissed her temple. "I'm not trying to make excuses or anything, but my father was really on me this summer. About family things. It ate up my attention."

"You're such a bitch." Rider shook his head, gathering his things as he looked down at Pansy. "Do you really think I'm going to listen to anything you say? The only reason you want me is because she has me."

"Your father should have thought of how I felt." Romy told him, shaking her head. "I was miserable. I needed my boyfriend there with me." She opened the door to the class and slipped inside. "Why was he on you?"

"Please. I'm not that petty." Pansy informed him, rolling her eyes. "Romy doesn't even want you. Walk me to class."

"My responsibilities to the family. He doesn't think I'm doing a good enough job fulfilling them," Draco said, frowning when he thought about the lectures. "He was just... acting like my father always acts. He never thinks about the way anyone else feels. With the possible exception of Pansy. She's a girl, so she gets spoiled rotten."

Rider frowned at Pansy. Romy did want him, but he was tired of arguing with Pansy. "Fine," he said, jerking his head towards the door. "Start walking. I don't know your schedule and I have to get to my class too."
