Update in ![[info]](https://www.scribbld.com/img/community.gif) all_icontest rules. While I know it's unrealistic to expect all icons to be made from non-fanart sources, after discussing it with a friend I think it might be a good idea to adhere at least a bit more to the OFP. However, it won't be quite as strict as I know a lot of people like to use fanart, so here's the deal: You may use fanart/doujinshi as long as you can credit the artist. Uploading the original image is the same as using the artist's work without permission or crediting it. This means, if you don't know where the artwork came from, you cannot use it. However, as long as you can credit the artist either by name or by linking to the artist's website/deviant art or other art-hosting site account, then that's fine. That said, this rule will be in effect from week 10 onward.
Thank you for your cooperation and I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but it's unfair to expect people to properly credit your icons if you don't properly credit the art that you made the icons from. I'm guilty of doing this in the past as well, so this isn't directly outing anyone, but I think it's a good practice to make sure that the right person gets the right credit. When winners are posted for each week from now on, by the way, I will start including the subject, what the subject's from, and the artist of the art if applicable after each winning icon. :D
I really hope this isn't too much trouble, but I hope you guys understand. Thank you! |

| Week o1O :: Theme |

WEEK TEN: TASTE and DUPLICATED IMAGE
Theme 1: Taste. Pretty simple. Doesn't even have to actually include food in the subject just as long as you convey some sort of concept related to taste/eating/food/a specific taste-related sensation, etc. It's pretty open!
Theme 2: Duplicated Image. You have to use one image at least twice in the same icon. It doesn't have to be the same crop, but it has to be visible part of the space image. [ EXAMPLES: 01, 02, 03-- obviously these are not the only ways you can do it, you can do it any way you'd like as long as you've got the image used two or more times in the icon. ]

WEEK NINE: ORNAMENTAL TYPE and MULTIPLE CHARACTERS
Theme 1: Ornamental Type. The icon must use text and the font used must be a ornamental, or decorative font. (So no Arial, Times New Roman, Edwardian, etc. It has to be decorative font. For a more descriptive definition, click here. (For this theme, small text, while it is solely decorative, will not count.)
Theme 2: Multiple Characters. There needs to be more than one character in your icon. That's the only requirement, so you can do whatever you want beyond that!
Reply to this screened post before Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at 9PM PST/12 MIDNIGHT EST with your entries. WEEK EIGHT: ICON PAIRS
Theme: Icon Pairs. Create two icons that match in sense of style. They need to be different images but still be part of an obvious set. Examples: Icon 1, Icon 2, Icon 3, and Icon 4. Obviously, only two icons are necessary per entry for this theme (this set was just for a band called L'Arc~en~Ciel, so there is an icon for each member.)

Another week another couple o' themes. Let's go for a great week this week, and here are your themes!
WEEK SEVEN: OUT OF THIS WORLD and SONG TITLES
Theme 1: Out of This World. Actually thought of this theme in honor of the new season of Doctor Who that's coming out (I know the third episode is already out so this may be a bit late, but the BBCA just showed episode one today.) But, since the point of this community isn't to limit your subject, this theme is "Out of this World"! Interpret it as you want, whether it's aliens, completely insane ideas, or some other thing you can think up that fits the subject, GO for it! It's very open, so get creative with this one!
Theme 2: Song Titles. That's right, not lyrics, titles. If you use this theme, you have to use text and it has to be the title of a song. If you choose to enter this theme, you must include a link on YouTube to a video with the song to prove it's a real song.
Entries due by: Saturday, April 24th at 9PM PST/12AM EST. Don't forget to include the icon, the URL, the subject, and what the subject is from (if applicable). All icons must fit Scribbld formatting and you must reply to this screened post with your entry before the due date to participate! |
