Mackenzie debated momentarily if she should extract herself from the smaller girl's lap, Tatum's fall back argument reaching her ears. She decided to stay a bit longer though, especially as the girl leaned back in almost instantly afterwards. If the girl really wanted this to stop, she would probably push Mackenzie off of her, or something verbally along those lines. It had happened enough time's before. She watched as Tatum processed the situation, her heart melting as the red head looked back at her.
When Tatum finally spoke, she felt her stomach fluttering. Tatum was comfortable with her, she provided comfort to the little red head. Mackenzie had never felt protective of anyone beyond Hunter and Michi, and that was a different feeling than the one she was getting now. She felt useful, like she was good for something. Smiling shyly back at Tatum, she pulled the girl back to her and planted a soft kiss on her lips. "I'm glad you feel comfortable T," she whispered against the other girl's lips. Both hands running through the smaller girl's hair. "I-I want you to feel comfortable around me, because you...you make me feel safe. I...It's not something I'm used to, but when we aren't fighting against each other, it feels pretty damn good." She rested her forehead against Tatum's, a small grin making it's way past the shy smile. "Plus, I think I'm getting a little bit addicted to your kisses. It might be the death of me."
Tatum wasn't sure if she really was, but she felt sort of like she was trembling all over. Between sensory overload and all of the emotions, guilt and arousal winning the race neck to neck, it was hard to even focus on the words coming out of the blonde's mouth. When Mack said she made her feel safe, the redhead looked at her rather sheepishly and just a bit skeptically. "W-What? Me?" she whispered back, pulling away from the older girl's lips just a little.
"I-I'm just a wimp, I couldn't-- I c-can't keep anybody safe, you're like the.. b-big dumb hero or whatever," she muttered, eyes closing as their foreheads rested together. She couldn't help but smile despite herself at the blonde's admission. "Don't make me r-roll up a coconut joint. I have the p-power," she joked. It was wrong but it just felt right, to be sitting with her, joking with her. Knowing she should have pulled away, she just leaned in for another kiss.
"Yeah, but don't tell Hunt I said so, okay?" Mackenzie said, blushing slightly. "Just 'cause I'm the big dumb hero doesn't mean I don't need...savin' sometimes." The last part came out as barely a whisper, and she wondered if Tatum had even heard it. She wasn't the kind of person to admit that she needed help, ever. It had just slipped out, which seemed to be turning into a nasty habit around the redhead. She couldn't sensor her feelings around the other girl. It was why Mackenzie had claimed that she had felt safe around her, because for whatever reason, she could just blurt out her feelings like that.
She couldn't help but chuckle as Tatum threatened to roll a coconut flavored joint, and crinkled her nose in protest. "You're evil, you know I don't like coconut," she muttered before kissing Tatum. She could feel an unusual warmth spreading throughout her body, like the feeling she usually got from flying particularly well during a match. It was something she had never felt before, and as terrified as she was to lose it, she wanted more of it. "Something tells me you don't exactly mind my kisses either T," she mumbled, smirking as she brought their lips back together. Scooting closer to the girl, she deepened the kiss, threading her hand through the waves of red hair.
"I won't t-tell anybody," Tatum blurted back, blushing a bit herself as she ducked her head. When Mack accused her of treachery, she had to crack a little smile. "Of course I know," she whispered, chewing her lip just slightly before the blonde was kissing her again, sending the shivers down through her body, right to her fingertips.
Reaching up, she grasped the front of the older girl's shirt, pulling her closer. She only gave a little whimper of protest when Mack broke away to speak, making her blush harder and lean back in to kiss her again. She knew she had to stop, but just wasn't happening easily. She didn't want to stop, and that was the worst part. Feeling the hands pulling at her hair slightly, the redhead gave another little whimper, pulling the blonde even closer. She pulled away from her lips for a moment, kissing down her jawline and neck shakily.
When Tatum admitted that of course she knew one of her dislikes, Mack could feel her heart skip a beat. The familiarity of it caused her heart to almost burst in happiness, Tatum knew little things about her, things that she couldn't figure out from just casually knowing her. Mackenzie would have come up with a probing response, but then Tatum's hands were grabbing the front of her shit and she was completely lost in kissing the other girl.
Tipping her head back to give the other girl better access to her neck, she hummed happily. She felt a small shiver make it's way down her spine, and couldn't help but shudder as she felt the girl's lips on her neck. She ran her hands down the smaller girl's back, gripping at her shirt. She wanted so badly to feel the girl's bare back under her palms, but she didn't want to move this too quickly. Tatum was in control, and she knew that if she pushed the girl too far, she'd pull back into her shell. She did, however, play with the bottom of Tatum's shirt, letting her fingers brush the little sliver of skin that was accessible. Mack might have let Tatum have control of the situation, but no one had ever said suggestion wasn't allowed.
Tatum knew she couldn't drag their contact out forever, that soon enough it would need to stop, for more reason than one. But that certainly didn't make the task any easier. Every time that she felt she was ready to pull back and tell Mack that they couldn't go on, the blonde would do something seemingly small and insignificant and send shivers down her whole spine. She seemed to be tingling right down to her toes as the older girl's fingers played over the small of her back as it poked out from under her shirts.
"W-Wait," she gasped out finally, breaking away from their kiss, and looking at the blonde seriously with half-lidded eyes. She felt breathless, like they had been kissing for hours rather than minutes. "We should-- we c-can't right.. r-right now, but I need to.. I-I just need to, but not r-right now? Just let me-- p-promise, I'm going to fix everything but I still.. h-have a boyfriend. Right n-now. So we c-can't but I just.." Trailing off, the redhead bit her lower lip fiercely. "I j-just really want to. I never-- is t-that like, real making out?" she half-whispered, wanting to either laugh or cry. No boy had ever given her that fluttering tingling amazed feeling that the tall blonde was still giving her just by perching in her lap.
It took a lot of effort to suppress the small grunt of protest that Mack desperately wanted to make when Tatum pulled away from her lips. It had been so nice, and for once, the whole innocence of the situation hadn't bothered Mack in the slightest. She actually had kind of enjoyed how slow things were rolling, and the way that the smaller girl was looking at her wasn't doing any good to convince her to take the moral high road. It was the girl's jumbled word vomit that snapped Mack out of a particularly good fantasy about where things could go, and she stared at Tatum as if she was just seeing her for the first time.
She watched with new found interest as the girl bit her lower lip, and couldn't stop her jaw from dropping with surprise as she barely caught the girl's half whispered question. She wasn't sure what she was more shocked at, that Tatum bluntly admitted that she really did want to continue making out with the blonde, or the fact that the smaller girl had asked her if that was real making out. "I...uh..." she stuttered, deciding whether she should laugh or just explode from the amount of love she felt for the redhead. "Well, yeah, what else would it be?" She said finally, after looking like a goldfish for several moments. "You...er...like, never made out with anyone before?"
Tatum felt her cheeks blush furiously, as she ducked her head a little and gave it a quick shake. "N-No! I mean, I have like.. l-like actually w-way more than I e-ever wanted to," she admitted, laughing weakly. "I'm b-bad at saying 'no', if you h-hadn't.. noticed that by now," the redhead added with a little smile. It was true, and it was why she had ended up with half of the boyfriends she had ever had. Boys always ended up wanting to be more than friends, and as awkward as it was, she usually went along with it. Her dad was always happy with her.
"It just.. n-never felt like that before," Tatum quickly added, clearing her throat softly. "You know, like.. when I k-kiss you and when I kiss a boy, it's like.. apples and o-oranges, or whatever the s-saying is. Except it's w-worse than that, it's like.. apples and porkchops. Not even remotely the s-same. Kissing boys and then.. k-kissing you," she paused, swallowing thickly and chewing her lip. "No c-comparison. That's why it's s-so hard to.. n-not. Do t-this."
Mackenzie just listened to the girl she was sitting on ramble with a small smile on her face. While the small part of her that was still five years old wanted to tell Tatum that she told her so, for once, the mature side of her won. She just smiled and gave the girl a small peck on the lips to stop her from continuing on once she had came to a pause.
"So...You like porkchops better than apples, and I'm a porkchop?" She asked with a small chuckle, biting her lip as she tried not to burst out laughing. It was probably the cutest thing Mackenzie had ever heard, and she just wanted kiss the girl until she was blue in the face. "You're too cute babe," she blurted out before she could stop herself. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
