Sylvia had gone all out for tonight's dance, quite literally, and was in good spirits. Christmas holidays meant going back to London, shopping and catching up on all her favourite television. She was even dancing a little, swaying with the music and holding her hand out to catch the snowflakes. She didn't know if she was imagining it or not, but she was sure they were cold to the touch.

It was the first dance that Michiko had to wear flats instead of high heels. It was a small thing, in fact, the smallest change indeed, but it was something that would have helped make the adjustment a little easier. She could shake the fact that everyone was staring at her because she was an abandoned, pregnant lesbian. At least she could pretend they were staring at her because she looked good. But she couldn't fake high heels.

Shaking it off, she looked around for anyone to talk to and spotted Sylvia, looking bad ass in her holiday finery. At least one of them could drop some fashion bombs on the school. "Lookin' fierce Silv," she complimented, approaching the younger girl.

"Hey Mich" Sylvia greeted her with a half smile. News travelled fast and something as big as a pregnancy had been the hot topic, but still she found herself gawping at the older girl's belly. "Looking pretty good yourself. How's it cookin'?" she asked, nodding towards Michi's belly. Silv was impressed Michi had some to the dance with her head held high, it was the reason she liked Michi so much.

Sylvia was one of the few people who Michi felt comfortable around with privileged baby information. She felt like Sylvia wasn't judging her.

"A little over half way there," she said rubbing her belly. "Gonna be a boy," she said, a subtle pride in her voice. "As soon he's born though, I'll be lettin' him know how much I missed wearin' my heels though," she joked. "I feel so short now."
