Tensing up as Sera spoke, Jenny let the words settle in and felt her worry turning to panic. She reached out to touch the younger girl's shoulders as she held her face in her hands, but the blonde was taken back as her girlfriend looked up at her with tears in her eyes. "Baby," she began shakily, finding it exceptionally hard to meet the brunette's gaze.
She could hardly believe what the younger girl was telling her, feeling her own eyes welling up with tears as she realized what she was actually saying. Tatum was out, and now she was out as in on the street. She had known that Sera's dad was a lot more of a hard ass than her own laid back hippie father, but she had never imagined it would go this bad. Tatum always acted like it was, but Tatum always overreacted, didn't she? It couldn't be happening. "N-No," she finally breathed, deciding that it had to be some sort of sick joke. It couldn't be happening, and Sera couldn't be breaking up with her, no matter what it sounded like. "He's your dad, he c-couldn't-- he can't," the blonde rambled, squeezing Sera's hands in her own and looking at her desperately. "He'll l-let her come home, won't he? Won't he have to let her? It's.. this is her house! You're his children!"
Sera looked away again. Leaning in against her knees again, trying desperately to think of what to say next and regain herself abit. Out of the corner of her eye she could still see her phone blinking with texts. She wished more than ever then that she had just read them earlier, at least she'd of had a bit of time to prepare herself.
"Yess!" Sera sobbed, turning to look at the blond. She didn't bother to lift her head off her knees when she spoke. The younger girl wiped her eyes once again, but at this point she knew it was kind of pointless. She was a mess. She was pretty sure even Jenny hadn't seen her cried like this before. "He can! He did Jenny that's what I'm trying to say! You're right he's my dad. I don't want him to hate me. I love you but family comes first. Babe, I'm sorry." "You would do the same thing. I hate to say it but what if it came down to me and Ella? Family comes first right?"
There was really no way to gently take what the brunette was telling her, and Jenny was just barely managed to hold herself together, feeling a familiar sinking pain in her chest as she watched the younger girl sobbing in front of her. She was a mess, a complete mess, worse than Jenny had ever seen her. It wasn't as if Sera had never cried in front of her before, but never quite like this. She was hurting bad, and despite that, Jenny could still feel irritation bubbling up inside of her, tinging her hurt.
"Then he's no dad! He's no family! If he was a proper dad, then he wouldn't-- don't c-compare it, you can't compare this because Ella would never put me in a position like that. My father would never do that to me, he just-- Sera, please!" she burst out, motioning desperately with her hands as she spoke, watching the other girl closely. "You don't have to afraid of him," she finished dejectedly. "I know you.. I know he's your dad, I know you love your family, but baby you have to understand like.. that's not what a dad should do. No matter what, or what you do, he should.. he should love you. I do think family comes first, but only when your family isn't.. manipulating you with fear! And that's exactly what he's doing to you! He doesn't even know it, but he-- he is, it's not fair. Just come with me, please?" she pleaded, looking at Sera seriously. "Come with me and w-we'll tell my mom everything and explain it all and we'll.. do something. You don't need him. Not if he can't accept who you are! You're so-- you're so you, you can't let someone take away your identity. Isn't that what we're always saying? Isn't that what it's all about?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
