Still smarting slightly from her fight with Eden, that bitch could bite, Mack was wandering around the party aimlessly. She had detached herself from Leland and was starting to wonder where her girlfriend had gotten off to. It'd be hours since she had saw the other girl and she was beginning to miss her. Grabbing another beer, she popped it open and decided to check out the upstairs of the Donnelly home.
She couldn't help but smile at the family photo's lining the wall, a young Sera and Tatum staring back at her in a few. There seemed to be more of Sera, and she wondered briefly if the girls Father had taken them down. She frowned as she stared at a particularly stiff family portrait. She had never met the man, but he looked like a prick. She knew if she ever did meet daddy Donnelly, she would clock him. She climbed her way up the rest of the stairs, only stumbling drunkenly once before she was brought to a small hallway. It was at this time that she realized she had no idea where Tatum's room really was. The first two rooms she checked were empty, Sera and Rath's things staring back at her. The third room she tried reaped different results. She poked her head in to find a mostly empty room and her redheaded girlfriend sprawled across her bed. Slipping into the room silently, she closed the door and made her way over to the bed. "I've been looking for you," she informed the smaller girl quietly. She placed her beer on the bedside table and sat down on the bed. "I missed you, shawty." She leaned down to kiss the girl on the cheek. Something about the other girl didn't seem right, and Mackenzie instantly went into protective mode. "What's wrong, babe?" She asked, laying down behind Tatum and spooning her. She pulled the girl as tightly against her as she could and nuzzled into the back of her head. "I love you, T," she mumbled into the back of Tatum's head.
Tatum had just been staring up at the ceiling some more, noticing some glow in the dark stars up there and wondering if she would be able to salvage them if she pulled them down, when she heard the door creaking gently as Mack came in. She smiled slowly as the blonde climbed onto the bed, and she scooted back into the embrace, ducking her head under the blonde's chin. "You came," she replied, squinting her eye as Mack kissed her cheek, making it flush a little as she smiled.
"Nothing.. well, I m-mean nothing important.. I'm just, uhm.. like, kind of sad, I guess. I'm r-really gonna miss my house, and like.. my room and stuff," she murmured, trying her best to explain as she figured there was no sense dancing around the subject. Mack would figure out what was up with her probably, whether she just outright told her or if she just held it in like she had been doing most of the night. She had been so focused on packing and moving everything, and trying to keep out of people's way at the party on top of that, this was the first few minutes she had taken to really grieve about leaving everything behind. "I mean, like.. w-we'd be able to come back here. I think I'll.. keep g-growing, in the backwoods and stuff, s-since dad has no clue anyway.. and I k-know I could come here, but I-- I'm not w-welcome, you know? I'll never c-come back home and have it a-actually be my.. home again. Like, e-everything seems really final now," the redhead went on, biting her lip gently as the older girl nuzzled against her. "I l-love you too.. sorry I'm s-such a downer." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
