Vendetta: Tom Smith
Mini-Bio:

Tom was a teenage runaway. His life before the age of 13 is a mystery to all save himself. He attempted to pick the pocket of Vengeance's alter ego, which didn't go so well, but Vengeance took pity on him. Adopting him as her ward and training him both in standard schooling and in vigilante work, after three years of training, he became Vendetta. He has worked for the last year, approximately, as a sidekick to Vengeance. Though he's skilled in combat, his primary strength is in stealth and disguise, working well as an undercover agent for the older hero.

Possible Support Cast:

An "Alfred/Jarvis"-type for both Vendetta and Vengeance.
A tutor. Tom didn't have any formal schooling before he was taken in by Vengeance. He needed tutors to help him catch up. While he's a quick study, he's still got private tutors.
A schoolmate or friend. Tom does go to school -- though it's a private school, paid for by Vengeance.
Other possibilities include people he's rescued but wants to check in on sometimes, or, if you want to get darker, some of the people from his life from before he was taken in by Vengeance (probably people he rescued, but still), who could show up in his life now. This is not for the faint-of-heart, however. His backstory is just about as dark and gritty as it gets.
I'm also open to other ideas.
