#1

Name: Lily Madeleine Evans
Birthdate: 30 January 1960
House: Gryffindor
Residence: Spinner's End, Derbyshire, England
Appearance: Lily is often regarded as pretty, though she doesn't really care what people think of her. She is of average height and carries herself with an air of quiet confidence and grace. Her long dark red hair and her almond shaped green eyes are the most striking aspects of her appearance, and when she is angry they make her look most intimidating. Most of the time, however, her heart-shaped face is graced with a friendly smile. Lily likes to make sure she looks presentable at all times, though she feels girly subjects like fashion and make-up aren't worth her time.

History: Lily was born to Jack and Marian Evans at the end of January, 1960, not far from Spinner's End. Jack in particular was delighted by the birth of his second daughter, and Marian repeatedly had to warn him to stop spoiling her. Lily's sister, Petunia, was intrigued by the new baby, and she never left Lily's side. The two girls quickly became inseparable, to the amusement of their parents.

When Lily was eight years old, she and Petunia met young Severus Snape during one of their explorations of the neighbourhood. Lily quickly took a liking to him, though Petunia remained suspicious of the strange boy. It was through Severus that Lily discovered that she was a witch. Her parents were shocked, but also pleased and very supportive of their daughter. Petunia was less enthusiastic and slowly began to drift away from her sister.

The rift between the two sisters became even bigger when Lily received her Hogwarts letter and Petunia was told she couldn't attend. Lily was hurt by her sister's spiteful reaction, but the discovery of the wizarding world pushed their fight to the back of her mind. Lily was enthralled by everything she learned, and she tried to read as much about her new world as possible in the months preceding the new school year.

When it was time for Lily to board the Hogwarts Express, Lily went to look for Severus, who she knew would be attending Hogwarts as well. On the way she stumbled over James Potter and Sirius Black and took an immediate dislike to the two boys. When it turned out they were sorted into Gryffindor as well, Lily was severely annoyed. Sadly she and Severus had to part ways as they were sorted into different houses, though Lily resolved not to let this influence the only friendship she had at Hogwarts.

Over the months Lily quickly settled in at Hogwarts, making some friend both inside her house and out. She remained close to Severus, both of them showing great interest in their studies and in Potions in particular. Lily once again came in touch with Sirius and James through her friendship with Remus, who had become her study partner. She disapproved of their pranks and took every opportunity to tell them so, brushing aside Remus' pleas to just ignore them. She felt sorry for Peter, who was repeatedly used as a doormat by his friends, and made an effort to be nice to him, to the annoyance of James and Sirius.

At the end of her fifth year, things became tense between Lily and Severus. He refused any help from her regarding the repeated bullying by James and Sirius, and it slowly became clear that he had been seduced by Voldemort's ideas. Their friendship came to a standstill when Lily came to his aid once again, only to be called Mudblood by the boy she regarded as her closest friend. She was devastated and secretly grateful for the Marauders' adamant defense of her honour. She formed a tacit friendship with them, but she soon found out that James had become quite taken with her, to her great annoyance. Any attempt at turning him down made him even more determined to woo her, and by the end of her sixth year Lily threatened to hex him if he would open his mouth while in her presence.

Lily is about to return for her seventh and final year at Hogwarts. She's very proud to be named Head Girl, and plans to make sure the Marauders keep quiet for their final year, though she realises that this is going to be an impossible task.

Personality: Lily has a genuine interest in people. Naturally curious, she likes to figure out what makes people tick, the same way she likes to figure out how different charms and spells work. She tries her best to be friendly to everyone and to leave prejudices be, though she quickly learned to be careful around Slytherins. Lily has quite a temper, mostly to cover up her hurt, but she's always quick to apologise if she feels she has somehow wronged someone. She can't stand arrogance and spite, one of the reason why she had difficulties accepting James and Sirius, though she has long since discovered that there is more to them than meets the eye. This still doesn't mean she has to like them, or so she feels.

Lily cares a lot about her family, especially her father, with whom she's always had a special bond. She loves her sister dearly, despite their difficult relationship, and she's very sad Petunia won't accept her for who she is. Severus will always be close to her heart, even though she isn't sure whether she can trust him anymore. She can't stand to see people or animals suffer and will always try to keep everyone happy. Lily can be quite stubborn at times, and often finds it difficult to admit to herself that she way wrong about something. Most of all, Lily has a passion for life, and she wants to make the most of it. Over the years, she's become less timid and afraid to break the rules, though her studies still are very important to her. She feels she has to prove that she belongs in the magical world.

RP Entry: Lily cursed under her breath as she scrubbed at her white dress, now marred by large splatters of orange. Remus, sitting next to her at the Gryffindor table, was avoiding her eye, looking vaguely guilty. Lily glared at him. He had better be sorry. Thanks to those damn Marauders and their obsession with food fights, she had sticky pumpkin juice all over her. She made a sound of disgust as the sweet smell of pumpkins invaded her nostrils and tried to get her legs unstuck from the bench. She glanced at her watch. If she was quick, she would be able to take a shower before her first class. And after that, James Potter would pay. Lily stood up slowly, cast a triumphant look in Remus' general direction, and made her way out of the Great Hall, head held high at the Slytherins' taunting comments.
