andrew and jeremiah, the end is totally open for some joshua if you want ene :]

Adjusting to life at the Haven wasn't easy for Andrew, but he was doing his best with it. He cared far too much about Joshua to leave him behind. Joshua was his, after all. Where Joshua was, though, he wasn't sure. He figured that maybe the boy had been working on the tree house out back with Austin, and that perhaps the two had headed into town to get something to eat. It was dark, and the little ones had been put to bed - or at least they should have been. Hunter and Wendell usually took care of that if Joshua didn't.

Andrew was in his pajamas with a pair of glasses perched upon his nose as he read a book that Hunter had let him borrow. It was about old magic. At least the Alpha was making him feel somewhat welcome. Andrew knew that some of the wolves didn't quite appreciate his relationship with Joshua, but the truth of the matter was plain and simple - he loved the boy.

Jeremiah hadn't been sleeping all that well mostly just because he was still having nightmares. But he didn't cry and he usually didn't get up and leave his bed. Instead he just laid there and sucked his thumb while there was no one around to tell him not to do it. Tonight though he woke up and he was alone. Julian was already in another room, having gone off to look for an adult, and though he stayed by himself for a long while, he got bored without being able to sleep. Finally getting up from the bed he took his blankie and then he started down the hall dragging it along behind him. He walked passed all the rooms and went downstairs to the kitchen because he was hungry and feeling a little lonely.

The house was unusually quiet. Hunter and Wendell were locked away in their bedroom, probably spending some much needed time alone together. Sullivan was out, probably to see Robin or working on something, and Austin was obviously not there. Neither was Joshua. Vance was in his room, and that's who Julian had gone to.

With a yawn, Andrew stretched his legs out and rubbed at his eyes after he took his glasses off. Deciding to go and get a drink, he closed the book on his lap up and then started out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen. When he saw Jeremiah at the bottom of the steps, he debated on going back to bed. He wasn't the best with kids. But knowing that no one else was around to take care of the little boy, he sighed and followed Miah into the kitchen.

"Hungry?" he asked softly. "I'm not sure where Joshua is..."

Miah was wearing little feetie spiderman pajamas and they were silent on the floor as he crossed the kitchen to the counter. When he heard Andrew it startled him so much because he hadn't realized the other man was there. He jumped and slipped on his blankie and ended up falling pretty hard against the counters. Once he was on the floor on his butt he sat there, the silent moment that it took the child to figure out he was hurt drifted in the air and then he was sniffling and on the verge of full on crying, but it never came. Instead he put the blankie up against his face and he tried to hide his cries because he knew they would yell at him if he cried.

When Jeremiah fell like that, Andrew looked all together horrified, and for a moment he just stood there and stared. He glanced around as if maybe Wendell or Hunter would suddenly appear and scoop the boy up, or perhaps Joshua, but his senses quickly came back to him. Wendell and Hunter were in bed, and Joshua wasn't there.

"Hey..." he said softly as he went to kneel beside Jeremiah, and he reached out to gently touch the boy's shoulder. "It's okay... are you okay? Let me see if you're hurt..."

When Andrew touched his shoulder, Jeremiah just went limp and he tipped over onto the floor, laying on his side so that he could keep the blanket pressed up over his face. He sucked in a few deep breaths as he tried to stop the sobbing. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." he said quickly, knowing that if he cried that Wendell or Vance would be hurt because of it, like before when Joseph had them. "Please don't tell."

"You didn't do anything wrong, kiddo," Andrew said softly as he furrowed his brow. He didn't really know all that much about the little ones, but he obviously knew about how Jeremiah had been taken. "Um... I'm gonna pick you up, okay? I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise..." He just wanted the kid to know what he was going to do. He didn't want to scare the little boy more than he all ready was. He gently lifted Miah up into his arms, along with the boy's blanket, and he got up to his feet. "No one's mad at you, and no one's gonna hurt you. It's just you and me in here, see?"

Miah didn't move as he picked him up and he just leaned against Andrew once the man had him in his arms. He was trembling like a leaf, unable to keep himself from shaking while he stood there in the man's arms. He pulled the blanket down just a tiny bit so he could see over the top of it and he looked around the kitchen. His eyes were wet, and red, and one of them was already bruising from where he'd gone face first into the cabinets.

When Andrew saw the bruise, he was half tempted to do a healing spell, but he didn't think Hunter would appreciate him doing it on someone so young. He knew that Miah would heal just fine, wolves were resillient like that, and he rubbed the little boy's back as he carried him over to the fridge.

"I'm gonna get you a little icepack for your eye, okay?" he said as he opened the freezer up. There were icepacks in the door of it of different sizes, and he took a little one out, no bigger than his palm, and went to wrap it up in a paper towel. "I'm gonna put this on your eye, okay?"

"Kay." Miah's voice came out whiney and shaky, he was still having trouble calming down after all of that and all he wanted to do was go back to bed with someone to hold onto him, but he didn't know who could. Julian kept sneaking off to sleep with other people and he was just used to being alone because he didn't want to bother hunter or Wendell. "I want to go back to bed."

Andrew gently pressed the icepack against Jeremiah's eye, and he hitched the boy up onto his hip carefully. "Do you wanna go back to your bed, or do you wanna come wait for Joshua in mine and his bed?" he asked after a moment.

The question was too hard and he didn't know the answer. Part of him wanted to be alone because it was just easier to feel things when he wasn't worried about someone else. But the other part of him just wanted to be cuddled and taken care of, and he was afraid to ask for that. So he just shruged and hid his face against the blanket again, holding it up around the hand that Joshua was using to hold the ice on his face.

The shrug clearly told Andrew that the little boy didn't want to really be alone, and that he wanted to be comforted. While Andrew wasn't so sure how good at that kind of thing he'd be, he couldn't just tuck the kid away and leave him. He all ready felt guilty enough when it came to Joshua's little brothers.

"You can stay with me, okay?" he said as he rubbed Miah's back. "Do you want some milk or water?" Because the boy had come to the kitchen for a reason, he supposed.

Miah just sniffled and he tried not cry anymore than he already was. "Can I have a cup of milk?" He was quiet as he said it and he looked up at Andrew as if he was waiting for him to tell him no or to put him down. He was still having trouble trusting anyone and he was still struggling to get back the childlike attitude he'd had before all of this. He'd grown up over night but he was too young to be such a little adult so he was just a mess.

"Sure," Andrew said as he put the icepack down and moved to get a cup out of the cupboard, choosing a sippie cup with Spiderman on it. It was obviously meant for Miah or Julian. He opened the fridge then, and poured some milk into the cup, and once the lid was screwed on he handed the cup to the little boy. "Here ya go..." He put the milk away and grabbed the icepack before he headed for the stairs. "Do you wanna watch a movie?" he asked. They didn't have a TV in the room but they had Joshua's laptop, and they could watch a movie that way.

"Okay." Really, he didn't care. All he wanted was his milk and his blankie and someone to lay with him for a while so he wasn't alone. He laid his head against his shoulder and closed his eyes as he brought the milk to his mouth so he could take a sip from the little cup. He stayed quiet, not really wanting to bother Andrew anymore than he already had.

Once Andrew was back in his and Joshua's room, he closed the door and went over to sit down on the bed. He reached for Joshua's laptop and turned it back on from sleep mode before he logged into his Netflix account so that he could pick a movie. He chose Toy Story and then got settled on the bed with his arm looped around Jeremiah.

"Are you feeling a little bit better?" he asked as he pressed the icepack back to the boy's head gently.

Once they were settled on the bed his thumb found its way back into his mouth and he laid up against him. It didn't take him long to start to get sleepy again. The netflix was weird for him and he didn't know what he was doing with the computer but he wasn't going to really question it. "I dont know."

Andrew could see why Joshua loved the little ones so much. They really were sweet, and not at all like the annoying children that he usually saw screaming and running around restaurants. Andrew put the icepack on the nightstand and gently smoothed down the little boy's hair as he pulled the blankets up and over them.

"Wanna see some magic?" he asked after a moment. Julian had called him Harry Potter when Joshua had told the boy that Andrew was a sorcerer, so Andrew thought that maybe Miah might be interested in magic.

"I don't know." Jeremiah said again, because he wasn't sure what to think about magic. Right now he was just tired and getting cranky. He curled up on his side a little more and he nuzzled his face against the side of Andrew's body. He closing his eyes and he put his thumb in his mouth again. In spite of the ice his little cheek was puffing up and it was easier just to have his eyes closed.

Andrew looked down at the little boy, surprised when Jeremiah snuggled up against his side. When he saw how puffy the boy's eye and cheek were getting, he frowned a little bit.

"I could fix your eye so it doesn't hurt," he offered, deciding that if Hunter got upset about it, he'd just apologize and refrain from doing so again.

"No." He didn't mind the pain, he just wanted to be closer to him. "Will you just hold me until I fall asleep?" he asked softly. "I was having a bad dream before and I woke up alone.' Being alone was something he was getting used to but sometimes he still craved being held and cuddled. "I'm so tired." he murmured, his words muffled from around his thumb.

"All right," Andrew said as he lifted the little boy up so that he could curl up against his chest. He put the sippie cup on the nightstand and turned the lamp off, leaving only the light from the movie playing on the laptop to fill the room. He rubbed his hand up and down against Jeremiah's back, and he found it oddly comforting to be able to help the little boy feel a little bit better.

It didn't take long for Jeremiah to fall asleep. His head was heavy on Andrew's chest and he kept his thumb into his mouth until his hand finally fell away.

After Vance had fallen asleep, Julian wokeup and climbed out of bed to go back into his own, but when he didn't find Miah in their room he went to look for his little brother. He checked Joshua and Andrew's room first, and when he saw Jeremiah curled up with the sorcerer he sleepily crawled up onto the bed as well to curl up with them, too.

When the door opened up, Andrew glanced over at it, expecting to see Joshua coming in but instead it was Julian. He didn't say anything as the little boy got into the bed as well, and laid down beside him and Miah. Toy Story seemed like a moot point since both of the little ones were fast asleep, but Andrew didn't mind it, and soon he started to doze off as well.

Andrew let out a soft laugh as he scooted in closer to the boys and Joshua. Julian moved to crawl up onto Joshua's chest once his brother was laying on his back, and he curled up and put his thumb in his mouth out of habit. It gave Andrew room to scoot himself and Jeremiah even closer to Joshua, and he hooked an arm around all three of the boys.

"You're still mine, too, right?" Andrew asked quietly after a moment.

The question made Joshua smile. His eyes were shut but he could imagine the way Andrew's face looked. Even the tone of his voice was immensely pleasing. "Yes," he said plainly but firmly. "I'm still yours." He liked saying it out loud, and even though the alpha in him would balk at the idea of belonging to someone, it didn't mind nearly so much with Andrew.

Moving his feet a little, he was able to touch his toes to Andrew's ankle. "Always, okay?"

Andrew couldn't help but hook his ankle with Joshua's, and he smiled at the wolf's words. He hated how vulnerable Joshua could make him feel, but he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

"Okay," he whispered back softly before he closed his eyes.
