Traveling all the way to Seattle hadn't been Kenneth's idea of a good time, but he was certainly looking forward to having a good old fashioned run-in with Garrett and that stupid little human he insisted on shaking up with. Maybe Varick would even be there, if the man hadn't just offed himself. Losing a mate was so hard and boo hoo hoo, the man had probably just given up. Kenneth rolled his eyes in disgust at that thought. No way he would ever have a mate. No way he would ever give himself to someone so completely.

He'd been stalking the territory for most of that afternoon, staying downwind and trying to avoid any surprise encounters. He'd expected for Garrett to know the moment he stepped foot onto his land, but the longer he was there, the more Kenneth realized that Garrett wasn't around. But he could sense Varick and the leftover fox. How interesting and fortunate that he could finish what he'd started back when Joseph had taken over the pack.

Waiting until Varick was upstairs on what he could only assume was an important business call, Kenneth snuck into the house and into the kitchen where Shannon was. Slipping up behind him, he wrapped his hand around his mouth and whispered into his ear. "Guess who," he said with wicked satisfaction.

Pirate was never terribly comforting, but he was efficient in his work. He made a makeshift brace for Shannon's arm and then got him gingerly to his feet. "It seems like you might have a bit of a bump on your head as well. Did you all fall down the stairs? I know you probably want to sleep, but you're both going to need to stay awake for an hour or two just to be sure."

Varick frowned, almost resisting the help until he realized that he couldn't do it on his own. He was having a hard time trusting other wolves, especially since his most of his pack had betrayed him so profoundly. And he didn't know that this boy was one of those who'd been kidnapped. When he finally made it to the couch, he looked at Vance. "Who are you?"

Kingston had brought down a pair of pajama pants for both Shannon and Varick. Once Pirate had the fox on his feet, he helped him into the pants, and then led him over towards the couch so that he could sit with Varick.

"Thank you," Shannon managed to mumble to Pirate.

Vance helped Varick settle down onto the couch, and then he straightened back up to look down at the older wolf.

"My name's Vance," he answered softly.

"He's one of the wolves that Joseph took from the Cold Water pack," Kingston added quietly as he moved to help Shannon sit, and then he started ot help Varick into his pajama pants.

Varick insisted on at least getting his pajama pants on by himself. His focus was mostly on Shannon, eyes flicking over in his direction as everything went on around him. But the notion that Vance had been one of the taken caught his attention. "I'm sorry that you were drug into this." But he was thankful that Hunter had killed Joseph because none of them had had the ability to do so just yet. In a few years, Kingston would have grown into it, but not as immediate as the need was.

Pirate was busy putting his things away. Bandaging up werewolves was always easier than humans. His job as an EMT had taught him just how fragile they were by comparison. Finally, he went to examine Kenneth's body, cleaning up some of the blood. "What are we going to do with him?" He asked from the foyer where the body lay.

"Don't be, it wasn't your fault," Vance said simply before he turned his attenion over to Pirate. He watched the other wolf carefully as he knelt beside Kenneth's body, and he was quiet.

"I'll probably bury him in the woods out back," Kingston answered as he straightened up.

Shannon desperately wanted to go to sleep, and he closed his eyes as he cradled his injured arm to his chest. It throbbed something awful, and he was just waiting for the aching to subside.
