Jeremiah had changed with his grandfather as well. The man had pushed a shift, though not harmfully since he was one of the best controlled Wendell had seen other than Hunter. Now it seemed like Jeremiah was popping back and forth all the time. Wendell reached down to pluck the puppy out of Julian's hands.
The frown was sweet and Wendell got down on his knees so he was level with the little boy. "I'm surprised you didn't change too. Did you try not to?" There were good and bad things about that, he supposed. Good because it meant Julian already had a goodly amount of control. Bad because Wendell worried the boy didn't like shifting and holding it back would make the change painful for him when it did have to happen.
