Batman is silent for a long, long time. He hasn't worked with these people in years for what he feels is good reason. Now, they were coming to him because they needed something and if he didn't help, it could very well mean the difference between success and failure.
A lesser man would have told them to go about their own way and stay out of his city. Last year, he was definitely a lesser man.
"I work with you all, but this is a special exception and will not be a regular event. After this, no more surprise visits, no calling when you're on your way to say you're dropping by. We find the source of this madness, we put it out of business, then you can do whatever you like." Batman tells them after several minutes.
"Are we clear?"
