Doomsday was brought down by the lightning, but it didn't hurt him as much as the last one. His body was starting to develop protection against it. Lucky for the heroes, Svalin's repeated assault, combined with Hope's, was enough to keep him at bay. It wasn't foreseen that Doomsday would win this battle.
