"Being shot is a bitch." Damien says, before he realizes what he said.
"Pardon my expression. You and the babies should not be exposed to that kind of language." he apologizes. "But it is not fun. I always believe I'm used to it until it happens, and then I realize how much it /itches/." he chuckles, then coughs violently.
He spits the metallic slug out onto the floor, as well as a nice helping of blood.
"I think I'm starting to understand what pneumonia feels like." he jests. He doesn't want to scare her.
"We can't stay here, Lian. Not when Cerdian knows where we are." he says.
