Damien does not grunt in pain. He simply closes his eyes and focuses on his breathing, Lian's scent, and how to keep her safe.
"If I had known that we would be repaid for our amazing sex by nearly being murdered...I still would have done it. I would have just asked Morgaine and James to stand guard." Damien jokes.
"Are you certain you're well, Beloved?" he asks. "You just watched your father die."
