It occurred to Zoe that Angie was kind of like the stranger in the van who offered you candy in the form of new toys and invited you to jump inside.
She followed Angie down to the car, feeling very exposed in it. Zoe moved on foot everywhere, knew every shortcut and detour in a fifteen block radius.
"Higgins won't be a problem after Riviera is down. Once this gets around, it'll make others think twice."
