Clearly, this ring hadn't checked him out thoroughly enough. But Damien has a vested interested in the world's future; after all, if the world survives, then his wife and children have a place to live, thrive and grow in.
He didn't know /what/ this ring could do, but he needed to find out immediately.
"Ring, can you locate someone for me?" he asks.
