Avalon Jordan ([info]bluelantern) wrote in [info]dc_nextgen,
Avalon was in a really weird place. To be hoenst, he wasn't sure what he was feeling or thinking or doing, but when he had come home the night before to find Josh and henry quite happily locked away up stairs, it ended up bothering him more than he could even put words to. It wasn't fair to be a dick about it, especially considering he was so confused in the first place, and so instead of being angry or sullen or any of those things, he was just quiet.

Avalon usually awoke with the dawn, simply because he enjoyed it, and had completed his star-greeting-thing he did every morning outside in the first rays of the sunbeams. It helped him find his center, and helped him feel less conflicted. After meditation, it was quite clear why Avalon was upset. The reasoning just made him flush and wonder if he should even tell Henry. After all, it wasn't like he had any sort of ties to Henry. But it was more than that.

Just the way Avalon thought, the way he felt, the way he believed.. nothing happened without reason. There was a reason he was sent to Earth and there was a reason why it was Henry, and in the end, Avalon knew that this was either a sign.. or a test. Either way, he would have to weather this whole Josh situation with grace, or else he would probably loose the best friend he had ever had. Avalon had knew many, but had opened up to few; then again no one on this planet knew who he was, and so he did not have to keep himself so guarded as he did on Nalor.

It also didn't help that he probably had a crush the size of the one Josh had for Henry, he was just much more careful of keeping it to himself. He was conflicted between his desire to grow closer and his vows and sacred duties as a Blue Lantern. Avalon had yet to voice or even hint at this, due to his respect for Henry and both of their stations. He did not wish to show any disrespect.

When Henry found him, Avalon was on the couch, flipping through morning television with the same look of half horror and half aghast disgust that he usually wore when watching television. It was such a primitive thing to him, and sometimes the reality shows and music videos made him gasp. This morning, Jersey Shore reruns were on, and they were providing quite the entertainment for someone who was watching Avalon instead of the television.

"Have fun last night?" he calls to Henry, no censure in his voice. It was an honest question.
