Too late, Damien realized what the Atlantean had done. Even after they destroyed this monstrosity, that left Damien to deal with two people who were very angry over the death of someone that Damien hadn't truly considered that important.
It really is true that you're nobody until somebody kills you.
"He is trying to distract you! If we do not stop him /now/, we /all/ die!" Damien yells, turning up his efforts.
He hoped the Atlantean continued to fight, because Damien's mind was working overtime for a solution on How To Get Out of This One. He wishes Morgaine were here. She'd just help him kill all three of these fools and be done with it.
