"You are of the land and I am of the sea." Cerdian says automatically.
"You are having the children of a man you fell in love with, Lian. And I think it's time that I finally understood and accepted my place in your new life.
I don't have one." he whispers.
This was harder than he thought it would be. He wanted to tell her that he loved her more than anything, and that always would, but what was the use?
It didn't chance that she loved Damien, that she was more in love with the danger he provided than Safe, Boring Old Cerdian.
Very little would matter to Cerdian after today.
"I came only to deliver that message. I should go." he says, moving to walk past her to the door.
