Damien had waited his wife out long enough. If he knew her at all, she would be holed up in her room with her anger. She would also be hungry.
He would sit and wait as long as he could before demanding that she speak with him.
Forty-five minutes after he left, Damien returns with Chinese food. The unlocked door bothers him, but perhaps she was just too angry to lock up. Or perhaps she didn't truly want him gone.
The state of the apartment informs Damien of what has just happened.
"Lian!" he yells, running to her bedroom. He finds the door off of its hinges and the scene practically replays itself in his head.
And when he turns around and finds the dagger and handkerchief in the coffee table, it confirms what he already knew. Rather than shout epithets, however, Damien's resolve immediately hardens into a cold rage that he knows all too well. Ra's al Ghul will die for this, but he cannot fight him alone.
Morgaine is gone and his mother cannot help him.
Damien goes to Lian's phone and dials a number.
