"Forgive the intrusion, but may I interfere?" Mera stepped out from the shadows, where she had been listening to the conversation between her daughter, Ty, and Cerdian.
"Cait, I know this is something that you do not want. Cerdian, your mother knows this as well, and believe me, we will try and convince both your father and Garth that there is must be another solution than this."
There was a pause.
"However, as the council is not likely to bend easily keep this in mind, whether you marry on Atlantis or on the surface, a woman can't have two husbands." She turned to Cerdian. "Or two wives. And while the council might not approve of a marriage made on the surface...they will not be able to interfere if one of you is married to someone else."
