Having taken a wound in the arm during the scuffle outside, Avalon isn't so much hurt, as pissed. He comes gliding out of the bar, his wings spread wide.
Of course, the first thing he sees is Henry getting clocked in the face with a pistol.
Everything else in the world falls away, and all that seems to exist is the things that Avalon must mind: Henry, Apollo and Josh. The thing about Avalon is that he's not your normal Blue Lantern. He isn't afraid of getting hurt, or even of getting down and messy in the trenches with Henry. It's why he was sent to be Henry's partner in the first place; those in charge of the Blue Lanterns knew that if any of their Corps would be a match for Hal Jordan's son, it was the winged Nalorian.
Avalon barrels into action, his ring forming a sword made of blue light. He then launches himself at Apollo's back, trying to buffet the man away from Henry and get him off Avalon's partner.
If there is one thing that Avalon has learned from Henry, it is constructs. He uses his blue sword construct to slash at Apollo, but the blade doesn't cut as it might with a real sword. Instead, the blue light tries to absorb it's self into Apollo, to heal him of any maladies of rage or fear or avarice.
