His parents words do not mean much at first, but as they speak, something slowly but surely enters Damien's mind.
If Lian had been any other woman, Damien would have kept her alive long enough to get his children and then discarded her. He would not have given another woman the choice or chance to betray him. Over the last few months, he has lost himself, has allowed himself to become someone else to fit her idea of what he should be, rather than being himself.
No one else would have been given the chances she had. Any other woman who left him for another man would have been killed with him. He'd begged her to stay, put his heart on the line for her...and she spat in his face. She threw him away like nothing.
Finally, he understood the Atlantean on at least one point.
"Mother...I want you to make the following preparations." Damien says, giving her a list of orders to follow.
"Father, I need you and Morgaine to find a particular individual for me. I will have a job that only he can pull off. On the way, I need you to acquire a weapon for me as well. Lian has chosen the Atlantean and that is fine. Whatever children they have are their own and I claim no ties to them.
But she will not take my twins from me. I will see her dead before I allow that." Damien says.
"Here is, in detail, what we all must do."
And Damien begins to explain, long into the night, his plans.
