Damien cradles Donna in his arms and tells her that he is already having a happy Father's Day because of her. He apologizes again that her brother can't be here with her, but that he will fix this in due time.
And for his own father, Damien allows Slade to hold Donna for a time, which seems to create a bond between the two men, though they will never speak of it aloud.
