She trades blow for blow, thrusting with the sword to take advantage of the opening when the mace goes for the massive blow, just shifting to avoid the worst of it and trusting to her durability. It glances off her skull, mostly catching her shoulder with a loud *crack!*, shattering most of the limited armor there and leaving a spreading bruise.
