Daughter of Mars (flashback)
Many months ago, the laboratory of Dr. Erdel...

It was on this spot, decades ago, that the strange experiment of Doctor Saul Erdel had brought the Martian known as J'onn J'onzz to Earth, tearing him away from a dying world, a world where his wife and child, nearly his entire race, had perished in a horrific plague called H’ronmeer’s Curse.  Stolen from his world, torn in space, and brought to Earth, he became a hero.

But J'onn J'onzz was not the only Martian brought to Earth by Erde's machine.  The teleportation beam had struck once more, unbeknownst to anyone.  But under the weight of transporting one Martian, the other even though grabbed first, had become unhinged in space and time.  Delayed, halted, with no time passing within the beam until it would reappear on Earth.

Until this night.

The laboratory had long since been abandoned, but tonight, it lit up like a beacon as space and time bent, ripping open as a single individual fell through.  A burning, dying individual.  A Martian girl.

K'hym J'onzz.
